I think Metallica would have to be my pick. I mean, they have a couple songs that I REALLY like, but vocal wise, they're not so great. And me personally, I like a lot of heavy stuff. I mean, I listen to Disturbed, Alice in Chains , all bands like that. But Metallica is a bit too overrated. The guitars are awesome though

Not really sure what side you support, but whatever – London Calling is the best double album ever.
Better than the White Album ?
You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Not by a lot, but yes. I say this because London Calling doesn’t have any “Wild Honey Pie “‘s, if you get my meaning. London Calling might not have as many highs, but it has way less lows.

I was mentioning the Sex Pistols for Most Overrated Band.
London Calling has Lover's Rock.
All Things Must Pass is the best ever double album for me.

Lodon Calling is cool, but I don’t think it comes close to the White Album . I’d take Wild Honey Pie over that awful prelude to emo song Lost in the Supermarket. The Clash do kind of annoy me though, although I wouldn’t say they are overrated.

I actually prefer Combat Rock to London Calling though both albums are great. I like the Clash. Their music was never punk to me. I just felt like it was just good rock music. The Ramones are a better punk band, but the Clash is a better band overall.
Another band overrated: The Eagles.
I like Hotel California, but I don't get the appeal of them. I don't understand why they are so big.
Well we all shine on like the moon, the stars, and the sun.

HEY! I love Lost in the Supermarket! I sometimes sing it when I find it's taking too long to find the damn ketchup. 🙂
*9* John also hates that…

Yeah, maybe Pink Floyd. Maybe Yes. And yes, The Eagles! Maybe Genesis. I dunno…
I can see how someone would look at U2’s most recent catalog and think they are meh, but oh, wow — I love their earlier stuff so much!
And John agrees with me — again!

It’s all a matter of opinion, though. I like The Wall and their music isn't terrible, but I know people who are all WHOA about it, and I’m not. 🙂

I wasn't being entirely serious. Still, I think it's like someone saying the Beatles aren't very good- just hand them a copy of Revolver or Abbey Road and you're nearly there.

I think Pink Floyd was fantastic at presenting certain metaphors for the way they saw life in a clever way. Whereas John would just have Working Class Hero , Floyd had the Wall. Same sort of idea, just done a bit differently.
I always think about bands in terms of how listenable they are, an example would be the Clash. I enjoy their music, but I couldn’t listen very much of it at once because I don’t like their vocals. Does that make them overrated? I’m not sure.

I have to admit, I do prefer Mick Jones over Joe Strummer, but they are both drop-dead cool, as far as I'm concerned. 🙂

That’s different. POB is a difficult listen, but the Clash are difficult for me to listen to because they annoy me. It’s like the Police, who I really enjoy, but I can’t listen to Sting for extended periods.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Frank Zappa recently and most would agree that he makes annoying music, but I can listen to annoying music but not an annoying voice, I don’t know why. Actually I do, damn you Beatles and your perfect harmonies!

I feel like the Beach Boys are a bit overrated. They had Pet Sounds, which is brilliant and all, but I honestly find their other music boring. There are a great deal of defensive Beach Boys fans on Youtube (who ALWAYS compare Pet Sounds to Sgt. Pepper ), but there are really only a handful of songs not on that album that are any good.
