@Mr. Kite, I not only have trouble posting images, I literally can’t do it! The toolbar with the bold/quote/underline and all that disappeared a few days ago on this office computer. And even when it was there, all it would allow me to do was post links to an image instead of the image itself. My account (both of ’em) is weird.
But I’ve seen “popcorn.gif” as internet shorthand on several other occasions in the past anyways, so…

Shorthand for what?
And if you copy this and put the URL where test is (and delete all the -‘s, I put them there because it wont let me just post code) then you can post a picture… Unless that’s too much work.

Offline @Mr. Kite – when there’s a dispute derailing a messageboard thread, people will occasionally post a gif of somebody eating popcorn (often Michael Jackson from the “Thriller” video). Or occasionally they’ll just post popcorn.gif. It’s like a shorthand way of saying “Just sitting here, enjoying the show, staying out of it.”
EDIT: Dunno why those @ notifications don’t work when I try them sometimes…as you can see, the one directed at you didn’t!

There were apparently users before me named Mr Kite and I guess something else that resembles that.
Other ones that you might have problems with are parlance who is parlance1 and AG who’s her original name.

Offline The notification system needs to be exact when you type it out.
If using the @ and the dropdown list you click on the person you want to notify’s current name and it automatically displays it in your post as their original sign-up name before submitting it – it changes to their current username automatically when displaying in your post on the fourm after its been submitted.
If typing it out by hand you need to know the persons original username and be able to spell it exactly when they first signed up to the forum.

Online See, now, I have never seen this dropdown menu – it doesn’t show up for me at all! Just one of several quirks related to my accounts or the browsers I use or whatever. I just type the @ and the username, and it either works or it doesn’t.
And now I understand WHY it doesn’t work sometimes! I’ll have to remember “cbatcu” and “parlance1” and all those, I suppose.

Offline If you are using the Rich Text editor option (you set this in your profile – see the link in my zignature for more information), you will get the drop down menu and see the names to choose from. If you start typing Ahhh Girl there you will see the cbatcu.
If you are using the html editor you have to remember the names (yes the ones people signed up with when they joined the forum). I am in html. If I want to @ Mr. Kite, I have to type @mr dash kite dash 3 (without spaces) @Mr. Kite. If I want to @ MrMoonlight, I have to type @ thingswesaidtoday (without the space between the @ and his name) @MrMoonlight.
To notify von bontee (the one with the space between von and bontee), I type @von dash bontee @Von Bontee.
