Then what do you consider them.
Hard rock, blues rock.

Either way, this is so true:
When you realise… that Silly Girl… is officially… a Zep-head.
The correct term, I believe, is Ledhead.
I may only be a very recently-initiated Led Zeppelin fan, but I appreciate the pain of stepping on a LEGO as much as the next person.

Here is a better one to gauge how much she likes Led Zeppelin:
How much do you like Led Zeppelin?
Thank You, @sir walter raleigh.
I like them about as much as I like Muse, which is not as much as I love The Beatles and Pink Floyd, but still rather a lot.
So I don’t think I could go on a chronological order Zeppelin album binge, but I do enjoy lots of their songs, and I like their sound, image, and the idea of them.

There is no correct term in the first place.
BoT; I’m not a Zeppelin fan. I can count all the songs I like on one hand that’s missing a finger. And yes, I have heard their discography.
But I do love D’yer Mak’er a lot.

I love D’yer Mak’er. Awesome song, I just don’t get the apostrophes in the title and how any of it relates to the song.

The 3 songs are;
The Immigrant Song
The Rain Song
Going To California
I probably would like more if I didn’t get a headache from John Bonham’s drumming or Robert Plant’s singing. I just can’t get over how much I can’t stand them.
@sir walter raleigh, the title is a play on how British people say Jamaica (also a pun on the song being very Jamaican.) It also is a shortened form of “did you make her”.

It’s weird how out of the 3 Led Zeppelin songs Evangeline likes, I dislike Going To California, I haven’t really listened to The Rain Song, and I really dig Immigrant Song.

Per Rolling Stone:
The title “D’yer Mak’er” does, in fact, come from a rusty bit of Cockney humor, which usually goes something like this:
Cockney Man 1: My wife is going on holiday.
Cockney Man 2: D’yer make ‘er? [“Jamaica,” but pronounced quickly so that it sounds just like “Did you make her?”]
Cockney Man 1: No, she’s going on her own accord.

I think Going to California is a lovely song and a welcome addition to Led Zeppelin IV. Not too keen on the ‘Seems like the wrath of the gods’ section though…
Yeah Immigrant Song is pure awesomessness.
For my money The Rain Song is probably their most beautfiul song. The first time I heard it was when watching ‘The Song Remains the Same’.

I love all the songs Eve mentions. I also really dig Bonzo’s drumming* and Robert’s singing, though.
I’m currently kind of obsessed with ‘Thank You’. I fell asleep with it in my head last night and dreamt of vaguely Zeppelinish things half the night…

Going To California is just too soft for me, I wouldn’t mind it if it were from The Beatles or The Eagles but this is Led Zeppelin, I’d feel the same way if Metallica covered Yellow Submarine while trying to sound as close to the record as possible, I don’t want to hear a song like this from a hard rock band.
I took a listen to The Rain Song and it isn’t that bad but it’s no Ramble On or Immigrant Song.

The Rain Song is also pretty soft. It appears Evangeline likes them because Bonham goes light on the drums.
I think Led Zeppelin has a great ability to produce lighter soft songs. Of course their specialty is rocking out of control.

While Zeppelin MIGHT have been the greatest English hard rock group, Bonham is not even in the top 100,000 when it comes to drummers of all genres. Almost any no name jazz drummer would take him easily. Buddy Rich vs Bonham lmao that would be a joke! Even in rock n roll Mitch Mitchell and Carl Palmer played circles around him.

Your average jazz drummer is better than your average rock & roll drummer, yes.
100,000 is a ridiculously large number!

I don’t know about that, as much as I like jazz drum solos, I also think that rock music has some really great drummers. Also, not placing John Bonham in the top 100,000 seems a little iffy, especially considering that I doubt that you could play drums better than him because he’s that good. I personally think that Ringo is the best drummer of all time, not because of speed, agility, or showoff skills, but simply because he didn’t try to show off, he did some nice fills and his drum parts fit in perfectly without trying to overshadow the other members.

The thing aboht Ringo’s drumming is that It doesn’t matter how technically good somebody is, if you asked them to replicate it on a record they couldn’t. Perhaps they could outplay him on a drumoff, but he did his job so well.

I’ve been on a Zeppelin kick today… listened to Houses Of The Holy this morning and most of Physical Graffiti this afternoon, and am still bashing at ‘The Rain Song’.
I am officially a Ledhead.
