Hi all – a quick hello from ‘down under’.
I used to own the blue LP box years ago, but my ‘better half’ made me sell my LPs to save space. I have slowly been buying CDs of my favourites, but for some reason never got around to the Beatles (who were actually the ones I liked most – I had every solo LP up to around 1979 as well).
Long story short, I saw the stereo CD box at a good price the other week and bought it; and in short order a dozen or so remastered solo CDs, plus the Anthologies, One, Love, BBC and a few other odds and ends – so you may well see me across these forums as I have a listen and want to chat about the experience.
Hadn’t realised how much I missed Ram , Plastic Ono Band and Band On The Run , to name just a few.

Welcome to the Island of Misfit Beatle Fans, trcanberra. Australia… man, I’ve always wanted to visit Australia, especially around Australian Open time in January. Maybe someday…

to fabfouremily: thanks. Your profile says you like libraries. Cool. I’m a librarian. I got my MLIS from the University of Southern Mississippi. I have been a university librarian in Oklahoma for 17 years now.
I’m starting to learn my way around the forum. It is so big!

^ I do really love libraries, yes. Well, to be more specific, I love the smell of libraries. That dusty smell, can’t beat it At times when I’m in a defeated mood and I think I’ll never get the grades to eventually work in the field of clinical Psychology, I dream of opening a little library that has a small coffee shop on the side that sells gorgeous cakes, too. Maybe that’s what I’ll end up doing one day.
Glad to hear you’re finding your way around

I’m sure you would have books on the Beatles and at least one listening station with Beatles cds or records
Good luck in your studies!

^ work in the field of clinical Psychology,
I forgot to mention that I also have an MS in Behavioral Science. I had to get a second masters to keep my job at the university. I call my Behavioral Science masters my “for me” degree. I enjoyed studying all the psych stuff. I do get to use some of what I learned to help the students in the psychology program gather materials for papers. Humm, a paper on the psychology of the Beatles or using Beatles songs for therapy, or…

^ Interesting. There are so many ”me degrees” I’d love to do. After all, I do enjoy studying and why should it only be to have a career with it afterwards? Uni is so expensive here, though, it’s simply out of the question.

Welcome to any new members who joined!!!
To other people: Sorry I haven’t been online a lot, I’m in my last 2 years of school now and the workload is massive so I’m studying/doing homework all the time and my head and back are killing me
Seeing as we’re talking about libraries/degrees:
My opinion on
Libraries: Love them, the thought of getting to read books and not have to pay ’tis great! But as I have commented before there are no Beatles books in my public library!!!!! And the next closest library is 30 mins away from in the car and I can’t drive for another 2 years!
Degrees: Hoping to study in NUIG (the main university in Galway. F.Y.I for all the people who just joined/don’t know- I’m from Ireland. I would like to do a German & Commerce degree in college but it’s getting harder every year to get into the course. But if I do get that course it means I get to study my 3rd year in Germany, yayyyy which means a weekend trip to Hamburg!
But my dream degree is a degree in “The Beatles, Popular Music and Society” in Hope University Liverpool but I do kind of want a job in life…so I don’t think I’d ever do that course . It is a postgrad degree as well and I’d have to do something in music so

It looks like Ireland has a robust Interlibrary Loan system set up. Ask the librarians at your local library about having books from other libraries sent to you local library for you to check out.
