Hello everyone!
I’ve been lurking on this site for a while now and thought it was time I made my first post. My name is Hannah and i’m from London. I’ll be 30 in a few days (ahhhhhh!!!) and have been a Beatles fan pretty much my whole life. I grew up with the Beatles music, thanks to my lovely mum, dad and older brother. I had to share a room with my brother when i was little and he had a picture of the Beatles, circa Abbey Road and i remember i used to be terrified of John Lennon with his long hair and beard! ( I got over it and John is now my hero!) I got obsessed from the age of about 12 when the Anthology came out and have stayed the same way ever since! Although my mum loves the Beatles none of my other friends do so it was great to discover this site and find lots of like minded people. I have felt that maybe i’m a bit strange to be this fanatical about a band that broke up 13 years before i was born but i see lots of others feel the same and i don’t feel so weird! My boyfriend doesn’t share my love for the Beatles (although he likes a few of their songs) despite my best efforts to convert him. I suppose i’ll just have to accept that, although he has agreed that if we ever have a son we can name him Lennon!
I think, breathe, eat and sleep the Beatles so am looking forward to having some interesting discussions with you all soon!

Hello.
My name is Mark. I am from Denver, Colorado, USA. I am 36 years old and newly married.
My love for the Beatles did not come until I was 18, but was introduced to their music by my dad at the age of 5. My dad appreciated more of the early Beatles sound. He saw them in 1964 at Red Rocks in Denver, Colorado. I can remember him owning two albums. “Meet the Beatles,” and “The Early Beatles.” He gave me his copy of “The Early Beatles” which got destroyed, and um, I stole his copy of “Meet the Beatles.” “Meet the Beatles” really struck me, especially the cover, with the iconic photo by Robert Freeman. Their music was really upbeat that I can remember. Really upbeat and fun. Of course a kid listening to that kind of music really makes them jump around to the music, which is what I did.
In 1995, after watching “The Beatles Anthology” on tv, I appreciated them more than ever. From that point on I started collecting Beatles stuff. Their music, movies, books and vynal.
Right now my collection consists of their cd’s remastered. Except for “Let It Be .” My copy of “Let It Be ” is bootlegged which I combined both the original version and “Let It Be , Naked” into one. I own the dvd’s “A Hard Day’s Night ” and “Help !,” and the blu ray of “Magical Mystery Tour .” I own both the dvd set and the book of “The Beatles Anthology.” My vynal collection includes a Japanese replica of the “Yesterday & Today” butcher cover.
I enjoy both early Beatles and later Beatles, so it is really hard to say which one I prefer. My favorite album is “Revolver .” My top 5 favorite songs are:
5) Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
4) Eleanore Rigby
3) You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away
My favorite Beatle is Paul. I prefer his solo material the most. I also like Wings. I really enjoy the album “Venus & Mars.” I even saw Paul McCartney in concert, in 2002 on his “Back In the US” tour, in Denver, Colorado.
I have been looking at various Beatles forums and this seemed the best I felt. I hope to connct with other Beatles fans around the world.

Welcome, welcome, new Mark!
Always like to welcome a new Mark to the site. As one myself, I feel it is my duty each and every time. This is my first “Hello, Mark!” opportunity, but I would do it more if more Mark’s allowed me to.
Interesting that you name Paul as favourite Beatle, when 4 of your top 5 are John. As a John fan, just worth mentioning.
Anyway, welcome, and as you find, WE ARE THE ONLY BEATLES SITE AND FORUM WORTH THE COST OF JOE’S FREE ENTRANCE (you can always contribute to Joe’s running costs, there are details scattered around!).
We are a good bunch of people, I think, and always eager for new views and opinions, so very glad to say hello.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Don’t start being cheeky and playing with your split personality! We know you are both one and the same, the good and evil twin (won’t say which is which!)

Welcome Mark and Hannah! I’m a newcomer myself and I’ll back up the other’s claims – they are a very nice bunch and their collective Beatles knowledge will blow your mind! I hope you enjoy this site as much as I am.
Thanks LadyBay! I’m loving this site it’s incredible! I love how there are all these Beatlemaniacs out there who love them as much as I do. All different ages of people from all over the world. I’m always boring my boyfriend talking about the Beatles (he’s not really a fan) and now I can discuss them with like minded people!

I’m quite lucky in that my wife, while not being a super Beatles fan, gladly puts up with my fandom. (Her first husband was a NASCAR addict, so the Beatles are many steps up to her.) Because she’s always having to listen to me present ideas for my radio show or discuss the difference between the British albums and the American albums or my theory that the Beatles would have reunited in the late-80s and so on.

You’ve got a radio show? That’s so cool! I can’t believe I’m with someone who doesn’t love the Beatles (although I wouldn’t be without him!) He does let me rant on but I know he’s not really interested. Oh well, maybe I can still convert him, although in 7 years of trying I haven’t managed it yet so probably never will!
