Hello, my names Julia and you’ll have to excuse me, I’m rather shy. Also I’m a writer so this should be fairly long. I’ve loved the Beatles since I was a young child and an amazing music teacher decided to teach five year olds about music by using the song “Ticket To Ride “. I came home on that day oh so many years ago humming that tune and my father heard me and let me listen to a whole bunch of albums by them. I didn’t become the fanatic I am over them until my teenage years when I really started to get into there music and research them. Now, silly as it seems they’re like a group of brothers to me and I can imagine what they might say in different situations and such. I am writing a book that does center some what around them and while doing that I sometimes used this site for research. I been wanting to join a Beatles forum for some time now, since my friends are tried of hearing about ‘the boys'(the Beatles) as they aren’t fans. I decided ranting to people who also love the Beatles may do me some good and take me away from the constant rant of hating modern music. I belong to another generation I believe and you’ll have to forgive my old soul talking.
So with that out of the way as you can imagine my favorite Beatle is John Winston Lennon(I don’t usual add the ono part to his name no offense). It was originally that way but for the longest time it was Paul. I’ve been on George and Ringo kicks but my thing with Paul started to fade when I had this crazy dream about John which basically involved me choosing him over Paul in a very touching way. I got in to John because I love how he’s such a real person and so artistic. I still do have a lingering obsession with Paul though, and who doesn’t I mean he’s adorable! But I think in all though John’s my favorite I love all the boys, in fact the only one who’s personality and character I haven’t quiet figured out yet is Ringo but I hope that changes soon. So yah that’s pretty much me on the Beatles without making it as long as that essay I did for English.

Welcome to the forum, Scoun, Clotx, and Johnnys my love.
Clotx, does that stand for anything or mean something? Enjoying your posts.
Johnnys my love, always pleased to see new John fans here. Too many Paul and George posters here for my liking (though I love them all dearly ). Look forward to your contributions. Jump right in and get your feet wet. We’re a pretty friendly bunch on the whole. And thanks for making yours a proper introduction!

My mom has been telling me I was born in the wrong generation since I was 10 years old!
Welcome to the forum!

Anyway, what do you mean, mja? You can’t possibly have too many George fans!

Johnnys my love, a fictional story (or novel) about the Beatles in different situations sounds like a cool idea. I wonder if anyone has tried that before…? You could be the first!
Aside from fanfiction I don’t believe anyone’s dared to mess with the copyrights which I’m trying, ever so carefully, to tip toe over with simple disclaimers but if the Beatles, their representative’s or Apple come after me one day I’m prepared. I hope it turns out great because when I started to write it it’s soul purpose was to educate people about both the Beatles and life in the sixties and how things drastically changed between the early sixties and the late sixties so we’ll see how it goes. It’d be cool to have a sixties pop revival I think and hopefully I can help fuel it. (Excuse my crazy off topic ranting again)

I don’t know that much about copyright law; but is there any law that says a person can’t write a fiction story using a famous person as a character? I may have misunderstood what you have in mind — are you thinking of writing a fiction story that tries to represent the actual facts of the Beatles history? Or a story that would just make up stuff you think is plausible or provocative but is not actually real? (I was thinking the latter, which to me would be more interesting.)

The latter, were it does use some bits of fact but also is blended in with dramatic stuff and plot twist and focus’s on more than just the Beatles(we’ve all read there story before) but of course they’re still the Beatles, with their names and songs but I don’t think I’ll get in too much trouble with it as it written to honor them not offend them but sometimes the kid in me will get all nervous like for example what if Paul never would tell George something like that and gets all offended? Though it is a real fear(he refused to watch the film “Nowhere Boy” because the actor playing him was too short) I usually just write what I feel is right and what I picture them doing and saying during the scene’s that are both real and made up.
