Hi, I’m Jimmy and I’m a Beatles-addict, as I’m sure you all are as well. I just can’t really stop listening to this band, even as I grow in musical tastes. I remember when I was about 16 and I first got my car and I was putting a few cd’s in my car. I had heard the obvious Beatle songs before then, Hey Jude , Yesterday , Let It Be , Come Together , etc (my favorite was always Taxman ) but I hadn’t really heard the Beatles. So I took six cd’s in my car: Revolver , Rubber Soul and Pepper, and I took 3 Rolling Stones cd’s: Some Girls, Tattoo You and It’s Only Rock n Roll. Well the months went by and I still hadn’t gotten around to listening to those Stones cd’s. And then a year went by. And then two years went by. I would like to apologize to Mick Jagger and the rest of the Stones for not really giving you guys a fair shake, but it really wasn’t my fault! It was those damn Beatles! I can still remember getting goosebumps the first time I heard the line ‘Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream.’ Pure genious! As the years have gone by I haven’t been able to stop listening, and who would ever want to?
Now, on to the Beatles, I would say my “favorite” Beatle would be Ringo because I think he is the embodiment of the Beatles spirit. Sure, Lennon sang ‘All You Need Is Love ‘ but I think Ringo was the only one who truly believed it. He was so uneducated as a kid that it almost seems like his education was the experience of being in the Beatles. And what could be a better education than peace and love?
My favorite song would be………I don’t really know actually. I guess I’ve been playing Girl alot on my ukulele lately, so I suppose it could be that. I also love the really lyrically profound songs, like You Know My Name (Look up the Number) and I Want You (She’s So Heavy)Favorite album: Rubber Soul /White Album /Abbey Road . Favorite line: You were in a car crash, and you lost your hair.

Thanks and yeah all 3 is cheating but I like to call it The Rubber Road to make it seem like one. But I guess if I were stuck on an island with only one, I would choose The White Album just because there is everything on it.

I’ve been here for a while, but finally stumbled upon this thread.
I came into this world in July of 1964. Mom said my crib was against the neighbors wall who played Beatles 24/7. Moved from California to Missouri when I was 1. When I was about 4 or 5, my best friends parents were huge Beatles fans (I really must thank them). I remember them having the “Introducing The Beatles” that was put out by Vee-Jay along with all the Capital LPs. John and myself used to run around the house with tennis rackets singing to the records. We progressed into the mid to late 60s Beatles, MMT, White, LIB and Hey Jude . For some reason, I don’t recall hearing Pepper at all when I was growing up. I actually remember where I was when I first heard my favorites Beatles song, Strawberry Fields Forever . In the 70s, I still enjoyed The Beatles, but being early to mid-teens, I had moved on to other music. I remember seeing “All You Need Is Cash” and how wonderful that was. I was still aware of The Beatles, but did not really get back into them until the issues on CD in 1987. Ahh, I was home.
I was so excited when the Anthology came out. I even did a speech at Dale Carnegie about listening to The Beatles as a kid. The Capital Reissues and The BBC sessions were gobbled up as well. The Mono and Stereo remasters were oh so welcome.
I found beatlesbible.com – Life is good.
Thanks Joe!

Well here I go. My name is Elisa, but I prefer to use a nickname I invented, Mithveaen.
What does your nickname mean? I can’t even pronounce it.
Oh I love The Lord of the Rings and it’s supposed to mean the Gray Sea in one of the langagues that Elvish speak (to be honest, I don’t remember which one, a friend of mine who speaks it created the name for me) . It was a character from a fanfic I wrote about Boromir.. but I never finished it. I might do that this year. I prefer to write my own fiction.
And it’s Mith-VA-en. But it’s that’s too hard, I’m just Elisa 🙂
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.
Beware of Darkness…

Well it doesn’t really matter if I can pronounce it – I only have to write it. I didn’t realise anyone could actually speak Elvish. How do you even learn – is there a book?

Hi. I’m Jo.
I got into the Beatles when I was about 11 or 12, and have loved them ever
since. I love the way nearly every song has a beat, and you can nod your head
and sing along, and how they basically took over the world with their music.
My favourite is Ringo, but they are all awesome. I have WAY too many songs
to list as favourites, but they include Here Comes The Sun , Yellow Submarine ,
Help ! and Octopus’s Garden . My favourite albums are Abbey Road and the Anthologies.
I have the Mono and Stereo Remasters, plus nearly all the non-remasters, and
a couple of books. I have all the movies, except Magical Mystery Tour , which is
on the way.
There is only one other person I know that is my age that likes them as much
as I do, and I have started on a mission to convert all my friends. It’s working
so far…
I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopus's garden, with you.
