…mostly Ringo). Couldn’t tell you why; just that there’s something about him that my heart really likes.
We’re lucky we still have Ringo and he’s still full of his mellow aplomb and witty spirit (not to mention superb drumming and choices of music to perform and record).
That’s not wrong. He was also my very first love at the age of 5 (saw him in Shining Time Station and fell in love but forgot till now).

@Starrstruck, if you’ve never seen the 1969 movie “The Magic Christian” it’s a real treat for Ringo fans. He co-stars with the great Peter Sellers in this bizarre comedy. The Google description sums it up:
Billionaire Sir Guy Grand (Peter Sellers) thinks nothing of throwing his endless stream of money away. He adopts a street person (Ringo Starr ), christens him Youngman Grand and sets about trying to illustrate to his new heir how virtually everyone in the world can be bought.

Hello, Starrstruck, welcome, have an apple!
I recommend “Magic Christian” too! I remember* Ringo’s part as being solidly supportive of Sellers, engaging in mostly droll observations and the occasional bit of repartee, rather than having any huge scenes to himself, aside from having the opening scene, without dialogue, that can’t help but remind of Ringo’s waterside bits in AHDN . (*I’ve not seen it since…1995? maybe? And no more than 4-5 times total beginning in 85 or so….)
Movie’s no more than an escalating series of absurdist comic sketches draped over the simple premise, some funnier than others. (My two favourite bits are the consecutive art gallery and auction scenes, featuring John Cleese, who contributed to the script, alongside Graham Chapman)

Hello everyone!
I grew up on The Beatles, and my favourite song when I was little was All You Need Is Love , I wanted to hear it all the time. Now I’m 18 and I’ve recently gotten hyperfixated on The Beatles. My favourite album is easily Sgt Pepper ‘s!
I’m looking forward to chatting with you all here :]

Welcome to the forum, @perma60s!
All You Need Is Love is a great song – and perfect for the Beatles’ performance on Our World in June 1967.

Hi everyone,
I am Kieron – a film-maker and Beatle fan (obvs!) from Dublin Ireland. I am delighted to be a member of this forum and want to kick off to see if anyone has any information on a particular story I heard about The Beatles when they were on one of their frantic American tours where they were stranded in a room in an American airport due to a bad storm preventing their flight from taking off. A scene evolved as the storm raged outside, where the boys finally had time to stop and ‘smell the roses’ concerning their rapid rise to enormous success. The discussion became quite heated and emotional apparently? By any chance is there anything more you can tell me about this scenario? Is it true? If so where was it? What year? Who was in the room? Who was arguing with who?
Any light that can be shed on this would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Kieron

Hallo, @ladymusic!
My mother-in-law was from Germany. Ohhh Boy, Ahhh Mom (my husband and mother – they aren’t on the forum, but that’s what we call them on here), and I have been to Germany 3 times to visit his German aunt, uncle, and cousins. Fortunately for us, they lived in different parts of Germany each time we went so we got to experience different sections of the country – Berlin, Munich (Oktoberfest was a blast!), and Stuttgart. I need to get back over there and go to Hamburg.

Hello,
I am a lifelong Beatles fan. I have a memory of being in a “big kid’s” basement and hearing I Want To Hold Your Hand in 1964 – I was 5 years old. During the next few years, I spent long hours listening to albums my father bought – mostly Sgt. Pepper ‘s and The White Album with headphones on to get every note imprinted on my brain (my husband is forever amazed that I know every word to every Beatles song)! Then soon after their breakup, I discovered all their great earlier recordings that I had missed being so occupied in childhood with the “later years”. Through my life, I have never tired of their music. I recently read Tune In: The Beatles: All These Years Vol. 1 by Mark Lewisohn (I recommend reading!) and found it really altered my perceptions about the boys early years (to the degree that it made them all much more human and gave me a better understanding of what they went through before hitting the big time). I knew all the stories, but not to the degree of detail found in this book.
I have always favored Paul McCartney ‘s tunes and I consider him to be the greatest musical genius of our time. I am always in awe when listening to his music and voice and can honestly say my life is so much richer for having his music to listen to. Too many favorites to mention.
Glad to have found this forum.

is…
I am an avid Beatles fan. I memorized all their songs (a great singer) and am able to recall placement of tracks exactly in their discography (example: Piggies is Track 4, side 2 White Album )
Have listened to Beatles on Sirius XM satellite radio (Channel 18) since 2018 on a half-hour ride from school. Collected all their music in early-2020 during Covid. — In fact, spent close to $500.00 USD on ITunes before just downloading mp3s from the internet and youtube. Obsessively enjoyed the likes of Watching Rainbows, (I wish) Carnival Of Light , Pinwheel Twist, etc.
I came here for the games, which I love the most, but sometimes news will come up!
It is a personal hobby, so you’ll find me ranting my own opinions in real life. However, I enjoy talking to Richar,d Ahhh Girl, helicopter and meanmistermustard here!
