Hello everyone!
I’ve already posted to this forum, but just now found out about this topic! Sorry for any clogging in other topics.
So, I’m a 22 year old history student who discovered the Beatles about a year ago. My favorite album is currently Magical Mystery Tour .
I’m looking forward to discussing and learning more about the Beatles on this forum!

Have any of your professors talked about the Beatles, either in class or just to you, @wormz?

Thank you for the welcome @Ahhh Girl and @Richard !
Firstly @Richard , my favorite songs on MMT are currently Your Mother Should Know and Blue Jay Way. However, if you ask me again in about a week, the answer will probably be different!
And sadly, no I haven’t @Ahhh Girl , at least not academically. I’ve spoken to some of my professors at social events and the Beatles were brought up because we were discussing music. I’ve tried to mention them in some of my writing, but they were never relevant enough for the final draft, sadly:(

I’m not sure if I’m in the right place or indeed anything about posting on this forum, but this is a quick introduction.
I am in New Zealand, by the way, and in my 70s, so my Beatles memory goes right back to the beginning. As a 15 year old in the early 60s my bedroom walls were covered in Beatles pics and I loved them even before my classmates seemed to know who they were.
Of course I was going to be at a live concert when they toured New Zealand in 1964 and were coming to my city! I was at the ticket office first thing and got a seat with a friend in the second front row. Needless to say we all surged to the front of the stage and there was only a row of policemen between the Beatles and us. Unforgettable night etched in my memory forever. And to think they were “just” Liverpool lads in their suits singing Please Please Me , and no one could have known what they would become, or even have an inkling of the talent and genius that was going to emerge!
I am an uncritical fan. I’ve loved them all my adult life and into my old age I never stop rediscovering and re-appreciating their music.
I look forward to exploring this forum and learning a lot more than I already know.

So glad to be here! It’s taken me a few decades to realise I could join a forum like this, but lately I have been replaying my Beatles collection (after a bit of an interval) and thinking – yet again – man, these guys were such frickin’ geniuses, there must be heaps of people out there who think this all the time, so I should hear what they have to say! And looking forward to sharing my thoughts, my favourite songs, my cherished “bits”, be they words, harmonies, etc.
But I know there’s a lot I don’t know that people here will have the answers to, even if Mr Google doesn’t.
Good thing I’m retired now and have the time to browse…

Retirement is on my agenda for next year. I can’t wait to have more time to devote to all things Beatles.

I’m honestly really scared to post here but here goes..
Hey! I’m Alex, and I’m from Southern California. I am 12 years old (younger than how long some people have been on this forum )
Ever since I was little, my Grandpa would Beatles songs to me, and Norwegian Wood was the first one I memorized, hence my username!
I love the Beatles, and digging into their conspiracy theories! I’m really excited to be here!!
(Also, I haven’t decided who my favorite Beatle is yet.. so far it’s John. I love his chaoticness.)

Welcome norwegianwood!
I love it that there are people as young as you still discovering this legendary band and coming on board this forum! Of course it isn’t surprising, really, because their music is timeless and the Fab Four are endlessly fascinating!
I might be the oldest one here, by contrast! I saw them performing live, aged 15, in 1964!

I had to look up what a Paulette/Paulvert is (just to be sure) and yes, yes, yes, that’s me!!!
You can just imagine what it was like to see him, in the flesh, aged 22, just about 3 metres away! I really needed a fan (as pictured) to keep me from swooning and fainting and ending up in a heap on the floor.
He may be 81 but I’d still be fainting and speechless if I saw him live. And let’s not even contemplate the day when he is no longer with us!!

You’re right. He still has that animal magnetism.

I just loved all of what you directed me to, Ahhh Girl. Right up my alley, so to speak! Hilarious and nicely wicked! I’m so pleased I found this forum!!!
No longer being the crazed horny teenager I was does mean my feelings towards Paul aren’t exactly the same as they were, but because, as I’ve said too many times already (feel free to yawn) he’s been part of my life for so many decades, I might as well be married to him and marriages get better with age in many ways. And the attraction doesn’t die! And we are always free to fantasize no matter how old we get.
I did have a request for him which I asked in the Questions for Paul thread. I await his answer.
