i just made a list in a text document of all the albums and non album singles that the beatles had made post-breakup whether it was solo or in groups (such as wings and travelling wilburys) and i’m going through them all in release order because i’m a nut. that’s over 100 albums and singles there. i am a nut.

The GM, or DM, or Referee. GM stands for game master and is a more generic term for DM. DM stands for dungeon master which is normally the term used in the tabletop RPG dungeons and dragons.

this is a long post

as a player i have 4 points that will help a lot:

-don’t be afraid to speak in character when you want your character to say something.

-what the GM/DM says goes, even if it goes against a rule in the book. you can say that is against a rule, but if the GM/DM still wants to go that way drop it for now. if you’re still not happy with one of the GM/DMs rulings, discuss it with them after the session.

-when rolling to hit, roll the di at the same time as your damage dice it will save a lot more time than you think.

-and have your character sheet there, but also have your features, abilities and spells written on cue cards at the same time it will make it easier to remember what you can do

if you’re running the game as  GM i have two tips:
-say yes to whatever they do and react accordingly, but at the same time know when to say no.

-the rules are the rules, but in the moment if it is better to ignore a rule then ignore it.

and i have two tips for being a player or DM/GM:
-communicate, dammit. if you’ve got a problem with the way another player or the DM/GM did something, talk to them about it after and try to come to an understanding. 

-and finally, if you’re still having problems in the group that aren’t going away and can’t be dealt with, don’t be afraid to walk away if it is possible. it’s hard to do, but it’s something we all gotta learn. try to keep the friends you’ve gained too if that happens.
