It’s true that we’re blocked by the Great Firewall.But for most people,they’re already used to living without Twitter or Youtube and only relying on domestic news agency.And the authorities announce that VPN is illegal and enforce restrictions towards it.Luckily they haven’t got their evil claws on BeatlesBible,so I can use it normally without any tools.
A pathetic government that wants to seperate its people from the outside world.Shame on it.

I think I found In His Own Write browsing Goodreads or some other platform and I was hooked. That was one of the many encounters, albeit casual, I had with the fab four growing up: some friends pissed out of their minds singing “Help “; that musical chairs game that had “Twist And Shout ” as background; some piano rendition of “Yesterday “. But this time was different, this time I ordered the book and read it. I looked up who Lennon was and ended up reading the lyrics of his and then The Beatles’ songs, I was looking for poetry and I found it!
I bought Revolver , the first album I ever cared to buy, and the rest is history. The Beatles remained one of my solitary hobbies, since no one else is into the band as much as I am (at least in these latitudes). Until one day one of my co-workers viewed my Spotify playlists and was baffled when confronted with the sheer amount of Beatles’/Lennon’s songs, then casually said: “John Lennon was a (insert some sensationalist stuff here), y’know?”. And listen: I hate social media, I avoid Youtube (the comment section) like the plague, I dislike small talk. I am one of those people. I plastered a creepy smile on my face and scurried away to “get some coffee”. I realised I needed a community. I read some of the threads here and found some peace of mind, finally. I’ve been lurking around since then.
I often dream of a world in which I would sit on some cheap chair, in some suburbia garage, listening to my favourite albums with some mates. Putting their music/lyrics/history aside, my love for the band comes from that feeling (displacement? nostalgia?) and I hope to find some people here with the same longing/ a common ground (we may not need a garage after all).

Some people have different @tt names, @ScarlettFieldsForever, and when there’s a space in someone name you have to put a hyphen. For instance Dark Overlord is @ gettingbetter, and The Hole Got Fixed is @ The-Hole-Got-Fixed. Ahhh Girl has an @tt directory somewhere…

As a long time Beatles fan and one who wishes he could still sing “When I’m 64” honestly, it’s great to find this site.
I’m not a prolific contributor (I was thinking of ending my post there for comedic effect but don’t have the nerve)
but will participate occasionally.
In fact I have an idea for a topic which is Artists or Albums that you like and believe were influenced by the Fab 4’s music.
The more obscure the better I think.
Before I start it I’ll take a look to see if it’s already there. I expect it is.
