Have been a fan since 1971, I’m 59yrs old this year. I love everything about the band. In the early 1980s I started travelling from Ireland to the Beatles conventions in Liverpool. Only ever saw Paul play live in Paris in 1993 but now I seem to be drawn back in after a long break.

Hello all,
I’m a long time Beatles fan who is old enough to remember my parents putting the new LP Introducing The Beatles on the HiFi (I still have that album). I have many hobbies and passions with music being high on the list, I think the Beatles more than any other band, instilled that love for music and the guitar. I “discovered” this site a few years ago while trying to get background on recording info. for certain songs, the abundance of detailed information really helped give me a little insight to their creative and musical processes.
I started reading through a few of the forum threads a few days ago and see there is also a wealth of knowledge from the Beatles Bible denizens. My thanks to the creator, the mods, and to all those who share their love and knowledge that make this such a impressive site and community.
Regards,
Max

Hi folks,
I’m Alice, from Edinburgh (UK). I’m a relatively young Beatles fan at 26 but my earliest memory is of repeatedly playing my parents’ Beatles records (I was absolutely enraptured by Back In The USSR !). The Yellow Submarine animation had a huge effect on me as a child (despite it not actually having had a lot to do with the Beatles themselves) as the combination of the imagery and the music embedded itself deep into my consciousness. I have been a huge fan ever since and have always been 100% certain that, as a band, they can’t be topped. I only started getting into The Beatles’ historiography a few years back and have been devouring the literature ever since. Their ‘story’ will never fail to completely enthral me. Oh, and I’m also completely fascinated by the life and music of George Harrison .
I’ve been a lurker for some time now and was so psyched to find a whole community of like-minded people who show ridiculous amounts of attention to detail. Chuffed to have found you all.
Alice

You say hello, and I say hello too! Welcome @endofthebeginning!
There’s quite a number of young members of this forum (like Beatlebug, myself included) who have very early memories of the Beatles.
Hope to see you round!

Welcome, @endofthebeginning, I hope you enjoy your time here.
As said by several above, many of our most active members are still in their teens. Exams and studies are often a part of our conversation in the All Together Now section of the forum, especially in recent weeks with people sharing their results and worries.
So, at 26, afraid you’re not really a youngster here . Me, born a month before Pepper, I’m definitely one of the old farts that hangs around .
Most of us probably lurked for a while before signing up and plunging into the conversation. I know I spent a few months as a lurker.
Having been here a few years now, I think we have great group of respectful people here, and am very pleased to welcome you to our part of The Beatles Universe.
Have you seen our founder’s (Joe) Beatles book, which has deservedly received much praise since publication last year? Well worth getting, in my humble opinion.
