Hello fellow Beatles fans, my name is Adam, from Charlotte, NC. I go by AK.
I have been a Beatles fan ever since I was 12 or 13 and first heard the Beatles 1 album. Yes, I am younger. I believe this was the best way to be introduced to the Beatles because it took me through the early days and on to the later days. Since then I have been listening to the Beatles nonstop and totally got the bug.
What I truly love about the Beatles is how everyone has been affected by them in their own special way. I love the disagreements on favorite songs and hypothetical track listings for songs, etc. There are different types of Beatles fans and they are all so damn interesting. I would love to know more about how the Beatles have changed your life and I hope I can accurately voice how they have changed mine.

Thank you all, that’s terribly kind!
I do actually live in Cardiff and had no idea the site was published here – hello Joe!
I believe Cardiff was the site for the Beatles’ last “proper” (ie, not on a rooftop) UK gig.
Yeah yeah yeah!

Hey @Joe. Another Cardiff dweller in the forumpool.
@ColinR, are you born and bread Welsh or are you a transplant? I bought some Welsh cakes at an open-air market in the center of Cardiff on my first visit to Cardiff…yum! Do you frequent Spillers Records?

Hi, AK. I like this statement you made: “What I truly love about the Beatles is how everyone has been affected by them in their own special way.” The Beatles started affecting me in 2013. They haven’t stopped.

Actually, i’d say at least half of the users on here are under 21, so you’re far from the only one. It’s funny because most of the users here were either born after Anthology or during Beatlemania, hope you enjoy yourself here and feel free to post wherever you want.

Hello @AK and welcome to the forum! You’re right, the way the Beatles affected so many lives is a fascinating topic! Have a great time on this forum and hopefully, we’ll lead some passionate discussions about the Beatles with you!

Hello, I only discovered this site a few weeks ago, but I’ve been a Beatles fan for near most of my life.
..for a dozen years, I’m only 17. I first heard the Beatles when I was about 5, my mom had the Yellow Submarine movie on vhs and I would watch it every week. It was my first introduction to rock music, and also helped me get into classical music as well. I was probably only 7 or 8 years old, and was in the kitchen listening to the radio. My mother always listens to the classical music station of NPR, but I never really paid any attention to the music until I heard the station play instrumentals and classical reworkings of Beatles songs one day. I didn’t actually recognize any of the songs (it was stuff like Yesterday or The Long And Winding Road , songs I hadn’t heard before) but I remember them sounding peculiar, unlike any classical music I had heard on the station, and almost familiar. When the station played the instrumental part to Eleanor Rigby it finally clicked that it was the Beatles, and at the end of the section I was proven right when they announced what it had been and what was up next. I listened more intently to that station after that, and though I only caught them playing Beatles songs once a few years later, I finally started paying attention to everything else being played, and it gave me a new admiration of music.
Anyway, my love for the Beatles and their music has been strong ever since, and I’m glad I can finally talk to someone who understands that isn’t my grandmother. (She’s still cool though) I love everything George Harrison and I’m a lonely nerd who loves to draw, I think I’ll be in good company here!
