Great to see you back! Wish you both lots of luck!
I hope you’ll get back on here more often! We are severely lacking Ringo fans!

Hey, my name’s Xavier, and I’ve recently gotten heavily into The Beatles with my best friend. We both play instruments (I play baritone/euphonium, she’s a percussionist) and there’s not really that much that’s interesting about me. I live in the Deep South in the (barely) United States of America, and am very into politics. As a liberal, a lot of things happening recently upset me. Which kind of explains that, when I am older, I’d like to become a politician. I have wanted to be a journalist because I write, also, but I feel as if I could do a lot of good as a politician. I want to write music as a hobby, though, so I can have a place to vent and just think through my problems. I also want to write music because it’s something that I can be proud of, and simultaneously connect with those around me. In college, I’m looking to play goalkeeper for a collegiate soccer team, or play for a club, and study law, psychology, writing fundamentals, or music theory.
I spend most of my time listening to and finding funny/stupid/cute pictures of The Beatles to send my aforementioned friend, trying to decide which Beatle is my favorite, and quietly freaking out when I’m supposed to be doing homework. I collect books, cassette tapes, old movie projectors, and cameras; anything with a story. I am also constantly very tired.
Peace and Love,
This Loser, Xavier

I am also a profound liberal! Sorry for going off topic but I hope the impeachment business lately has reversed your woeful feelings. I’m pretty confident the Trumpanzee will soon be out of office. Anyways, welcome to the forum buddy. I’m quite new but everyone here is lovely 🙂
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Hello!
I’ve just joined so I’m following orders and saying hello here.
My name’s Colin. I’m 46. I’m British and live in south Wales. I’m a freelance writer and editor.
And, of course, I love The Beatles!
A familiar story I suspect, starting with a childhood obsession fuelled in part by my parents’ Fabs albums – neither my mum or dad like popular music, and my mum quite disaproves of it, she bought A Hard Day’s Night because she was a teacher and wanted to understand what her pupils were going so mad over!
Since then I’ve dug in as far as I can. I was lucky enough to visit Abbey Road when it opened for a couple of open days in the 1980s. I went to Liverpool for the first time a few years ago and saw the museum. I need to go back and go round the houses.
As I play a little guitar myself, I do enjoy the musicological side of fandom in particular, and gearporn too.
I work online, and I can tend towards finding negativity (politics/terrorism/the usual stuff), so I’m trying to use the Internet more as a way to indulge in my passions.
I look forward to speaking to as many of you as possible.

Welcome to this happy forum, Colin! Sounds like you have a bit in common with Joe, our fearless leader (besides the obvious Beatlemania that we all share).
Can’t wait to hear more from you.

I think we all have at least something in common with Joe, whether it be that we both like The Beatles or that we both use online forums or maybe even something else.
