Hi guys. I’m back. Again.

So for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Egroeg Evoli (that username seems a bit childish now but I don’t want to change it because everyone who knows me knows me as that), also known as Autumn. I joined this forum about four years ago (wow, it doesn’t seem that long ago), and then some weird stuff happened and I left and came back and left and came back and I promised to stay every time but it just never worked out, mostly because I didn’t have the time and I had somewhat lost interest in the Beatles (gasp! blasphemy!). But recently I listened to Abbey Road and it was like hearing for the first time. I realized that when I first got into the Beatles, I liked to think that I really “got” their music, but honestly, it was sort of a surface-level appreciation. It was just a band whose songs (and band members, as evidenced by my username) I liked. Which certainly isn’t a bad thing. But I’d like to think that I am now able to appreciate their music more, simply because I’ve grown older and I understand music better and I guess I just understand life better. This sounds incredibly pretentious, I know, but I really would like to “rediscover” the Beatles, in a sense. So I hope I can reassimilate into the Fab Forum, successfully this time.

And don’t worry– I haven’t grown up too much; my ears are still young enough to be able to hear the high-pitched sound at the end of A Day In The Life !

blue-meanieheart

(P.S. I just proofread this post and I realized that I seem like I just smoked a joint or something. “Rediscover”? “Surface-level appreciation”? “I am like a year older so that gives me the right to be pretentious and highfalutin”? Whatever. I’m still posting this. There are seven levels.)

YAYYYYYYY @Egroeg Evoli!

You haven’t around very much since I joined, but when you were around I very much appreciated your presence. There is always more room for Floydthusiasts… right, @pepperland? a-hard-days-night-george-10

Jokes aside, I’m very glad you refound the Beatles, and I thought your reintroduction post was quite all right (my intro post was far worse, as I recall). I went through a phase of having lost interest in the Fabs too, until I rediscovered them a couple years ago… and here I am.

It’s grand to have ye back, @mithveaen– yes, you are a living legend, if not quite Paul-class. a-hard-days-night-george-10 (This is the week for reintroductions; I wonder how many more we shall have?)

I wonder if there are any other online forums where the members feel like family members?  Most of us were not members when mithvaen was active, but we all feel like we know her so well because of her multitude of humorous and genuinely humanistic posts.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Hi I’ve been a member of a few other Beatles forums for some years but have found the activity on those sites almost non existent. I’ve visited Beatlesbible so many times but never realised you also had a forum – and the activity looks a lot better. I was starting to think interest in The Beatles was dying out.

Welcome aboard, @Leppo! Our forum is quite active, and you may be reassured that interest in the Beatles is going strong.
