I tend to leave them alone when i get anywhere near them. I wouldnt want me coming over and asking stupid questions so why should they?

The one “fan” question I might not be able to keep myself from asking is “Who is Mr Bellamy?” I’m not sure if I would tell him my theory first or let him explain first.

I think it’s in the “fame and fortune” job description!

In recognition of my 100th post I’d like to formally introduce myself. My name is Steve and I am a native Northern Californian. I am 61 so I grew up listening to and intensely following The Beatles. From Help ! forward I never missed the first day purchase of a Beatle album or single. Once I even scored Magical Mystery Tour a day early because a friendly sales guy saw me sniffing around the boxes marked Capitol Records in the back of the store. Anyway I found the Beatle Bible site while trying to confirm the answer to a $1000.00 contest question the local rock station was running. The question was “What was the first non-romance song the Beatles ever wrote and recorded?” The first 5 answers were wrong (guesses like Roll Over Beethoven , Paperback Writer , Yellow Submarine , etc…) so I quickly searched the internet for the recording date of my guess and was led to The Beatles Bible article on the subject. Anyway my call was too late to win that prize but I did discover Joe and this great site. I really appreciate Joe’s approach to the songs and subjects and how he allows (or intelligently refutes) his readers input. To be truthful I read all of the articles and comments before checking out the forum. I thought the site had some sort of religious affiliation, so assumed the forum was discussing finding Jesus through the Beatles music. The first thread I opened was Beatles Trivia – Even Easier! which to me is anarchy in its purest form and would not be out of place in the 60s. At first I thought the threads participants were purposely trying to defy the moderators; i.e. “You say Beatle subjects only, sure no problem”. When I realized the mods were in on it I knew this site was for me as I value the forums combination of the serious, the sublime, and the silly. Also it totally surprised me to find folks discussing the Beatles music in present tense with such passion and verve. It definitely has brought me back into this music with fresh ears. I was a silent forum participant for a while but finally jumped in when Anna and Ron started the 2015 Canon Poll and I wanted my vote to be counted. It’s been great meeting everyone and I’ll see ya in the threads!

Hahahahaha! I can’t speak for anyone else here, but I’m most certainly a godless heathen. I only named the site as I did because of the alliteration (and the punning strapline). All the best Beatles domain names had already gone.

Exactly why I this forum.
The Beatles Trivia – Even Easier is one of my favourite threads– its irreverence brings joy to my soul.

Yes, we’re on the same page there. The only pilgrimage I plan to make is to 3 Abbey Road , London NW8 9AY UK, a journey you have already undertaken.

Howdy. My name is Adam, and I’m originally from Long Island, NY (2 hours east of New York City) but recently moved to Cooperstown (home of the baseball Hall of Fame). My dad was who originally turned me on to the Beatles. He owned the Capitol records collection (63 to 65, methinks) as well as Rubber Soul and Revolver (UK editions.) My first Beatles album was the Blue Album compilation. Later on, my uncle gave me the Anthology VHS tapes, the Yellow Submarine movie, and some bootlegs. Since then I have been a lifelong fan.

Oh, @Zig, you might want to get to know Adam. He might invite you to Cooperstown.
This brings back a memory. One of my assignments in library school back in 1995-1996 was to create a plan for a database. We didn’t have to actually create the database, but we had to think about layout and what would happen when you clicked on the various icons. I created a database for the Baseball Hall of Fame. It would be one of those interactive kiosk type things where you’d click on a category and get answers…very basic stuff. I called it Doug Out…ok I was brain fried from so much studying…but the teacher liked it.
Thanks for joining the BB forum, Adam. I hope you will jump in to the conversations. Let me know if you need any help navigating the forum or finding topics we may have discussed that would be of interest to you.

It makes me feel weird when I think that at 22 years old Paul was close to writing Yesterday …..

Hello everyone, my name is Rob. Originally from San Diego. In 1976 my girlfriend turned me on, then turned me on to the Beatles. Up till then they were just a band you heard on the radio. She gave me the red and blue albums as a gift and I literally wore out turntable needles listening to them night and day. Couldn’t believe I had missed how great they were. Still listen to them so much my 16 year old son has become as big a fan as I. Family vacation in London last summer and went to Abbey Road Studios for the obligatory album cover shot. Super grateful for this site as the members are so knowledgeable I am constantly learning new things every visit. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
