I too love ‘If I Fell ‘……….
I’ve been a closet fan since ’63 ……..and will be in two months!!
Since ‘I Fell’ in I’ve learnt so much here, and it’s refreshed my appreciation of their songs.
Have fun.

Since when have you ever been in the closet when it comes to the Beatles @Wigwam?
The following people thank georgiewood for this post:
Wigwam, natureakerI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I really didn’t want to tell my mates I was a fan…..’fans’ had powerful connotations to screaming seat wetting pubescent girls.
I went to see Help and Yellow Submarine alone.
History has proved me right to be fan……and wrong not to have been more open and proud about it at the time.

I would say I’m a closet fan. I’ve told literally 3 people I’m into The Beatles. But, that might also be because I’m more of a newer fan.
I hope you have a Beatles t-shirt you can wear to school and/or a Beatles sticker you can put on a notebook….or something like that. You might find some like-minded friends at school.
I pulled out my Beatles card wallet at the convenience store the other day to pay for my Dr. Pepper. The cashier saw the wallet and got really excited. Come to find out she is from England. We struck up a short conversation. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I had to get to work and she had a lot of customers. She said, “Come back and see me sometime.”
ADDITION: I wrote “beatlesbible.com Fab Forum” on a piece of paper and handed it to her.

Hang on. You held up the queue to have a conversation with the cashier!!???? I’d have been spitting blood at you, especially if the line was long. Pay with a short sharp polite “thank you” and get out of the way.
This is one of my major pet peeves and irks me every time i’m in my local supermarket (which isnt that big but i have no idea what to call it).

It’s fate…….and you met paying for a Dr Pepper!!
I’ve always thought of a sugary drink, (I’m assuming it’s sugary), called ‘Pepper’ as odd……….But obviously Paul’s inspiration for a group name and Long Playing record.
Over here in Thailand ……..If I pulled out a Beatles’ wallet with Paul on it….They’d think I’m a fan of Mr Bean.

Hello! My name is Daniel or Jopageri (which is just the first two letters of each Beatles name). This isn’t my first post but my first introductory one. I don’t just like the Beatles, I also like the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and the Who. I also like more extreme bands like the Clash and the Sex Pistols. But there are more bands like:
Blur, blink-182, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Muse, Nirvana, Oasis, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer and more!
I also live in Australia… just saying. I can’t think of much else to say… bye!
Hi jopageri! Welcome to the forum. Make yourself at home.
Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs
Don't miss The Bowie Bible – now live!

No, don’t worry, mmm, I didn’t hold up the queue. I moved to the side. She waited on three people while I was looking for things to show her in my purse.

Oooh not so sure. My measure of fan worship is simple. If by a quirk of fate I’m in the company of Sir Paul McCartney (my favourite Beatle) say for example, sitting next to him in first class on a transatlantic flight, I wouldn’t engage him in conversation – unless he engaged with me first. Even then, I would not bring up my “admiration” for the man, I’d just chat as two strangers completely unknown and unaware of each other would. Now if Paul asked if I knew of his musical history, I’d quietly mention I knew of his musical legacy, but as befits the British, it would all be low key and played down. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have that conversation, I just could never impose myself on someone. I just think how many 1000s of times he must have endured listening to his fans, so I just wouldn’t do it. I’d just give the guy his space, no photographs, no autographs, no inquisition.
I’m sticking with admirer of the Beatles 🙂

That’s exactly what I would do too in that situation since I am such a fan. I guess it depends on the definition of fan.
