Hello, my name is RubberRevolver49. As with everyone else on the site, I am a big fan of the Beatles. Although, I will admit I had been recently getting into their music, compared to many people on this site. I do remember listening to a couple of songs as a child, plus I listened to some of covers without realizing they were originally Beatles songs. However, I already knew their acclaimed status which made me hesitant to check out their material. But now, after listening to a couple of their albums and a bunch of their songs throughout their discography, I finally get their eternal appeal. I still haven’t listened to every single song that’ve done or listened to all of their albums completely but I do enjoy learning more and more about the Beatles experience. This website certainly helped satisfy my interest in trivia, along with the music-making process from these fantastic songs. Plus, I’ve noticed that the community here is very supportive and shows an in-depth understanding and appreciation for this kind of music. I would love to take some part of this because it looks like a cool place to be.

Welcome @RubberRevolver49. Some on the site don’t consider information about the Beatles to be “trivia,” however. The more common question is whether it is canonical or not.

fourcoolbeatlesI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Hi, I have loved the Beatles for a long time. I was a little too young for Shea Stadium but my father took me to see Yellow Submarine . I have been lurking on this site for some time and it is about time I joined in.

We’ve had a lot of nice additions here lately – glad to have you all. Your knowledge of The Beatles, whether a little or a lot, doesn’t matter. Just have fun.

Thanks for the great welcome. Around the time of Shea Stadium my parents put up a picture of The Beatles over my bed to take the place of some velvet painting of a bullfight. I have no idea why my parents thought I would like a gory picture of a bullfight. Anyway, the picture was the one that kind of looks like a painting on cloth, it has a blue cast to it, Ringo is sitting, the others are around him. I thought maybe The Beatles were supposed to watch over me. I did think their hair was very long. I don’t remember what happened to the original but several years later at a Beatlefest, I got the same picture. Unfortunately, that one seems lost to time as well. As for Yellow Submarine , I really don’t remember much about the movie other than I did like it but The Beatles at the end creeped me out because I thought they looked too weird.

Hi everyone, I’m a long time Beatles fan, since my dad bought me the Please Please Me album on xmas eve 1963. I bought the singles as & when I could afford them. I really got into them in 1973 when the red & blue double albums came out, I bought the cassette versions, I still have them & they play perfectly to this day. My next purchase was the Rock And Roll album.
I steadily built up my collection from there, the 24 singles in green sleeves were next, the 20 Greatest Hits were next. Then in 1987 the CD’s came out. With the advent of E-Bay I’ve been able to buy all the American albums & cassettes & a few other rare ones along the way. It kind of sucks you into it & I just had to get all the box sets that have been issued since 2009, plus buying all the Bruce Spizer books.
I’m retired now & I spend my time reading all the Beatles books I have & listening to all the Beatles songs via my I-Pod. I just hope I live long enough to keep doing this!. Have to say that I’m just getting into this site & it’s wonderful, loads of great topics.
