Hi, my name is Hayleigh I am 18 years old and from the United States. I have been a fan of The Beatles and their music ever since my parents introduced them to me back when I was 7 years old. My favorite Beatle is George and I think he is the absolute best guitarist in the world. My favorite song by the Beatles is “Piggies ” yes I said “Piggies “. Not only is it written by George, but I also love pigs in general. Some other things about me are I am a Freshman in College, I love Ballet Dancing, Pigs, Big Sunglasses, and hanging at the beach in the Summer.

Hi Hazy, alas they never wrote a song about penguins which are my favourites. a-hard-days-night-ringo-2

Argh. But it’s not a song about penguins like Penguins eeking in the dead of night, take these stumpy flippers and learn to swim or I am the penguin, give me a fish!. Say that gives me an idea…

Have you seen the little penguins
Slipping on the ice
And for all the little penguins
Life is pretty nice
Always having ice to play around in.

Have you seen the bigger penguins
In their zebra tights
You will find the bigger penguins
Stirring up the ice
Always have clean tights to play around in.

In their nests with all their beaking
They don’t care what goes on around
In their lives there’s something leaking
What they need’s a damn good eeking.

Everywhere there’s lots of penguins
Living penguin lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their penguin wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their herring.

Hurrah my first terrible song parody involving penguins on a new forum! edit: also @Ahhh Girl I suspected this was a punny board. I hope I can set a good eggsample.

I used to do them in community radio stations! That’s how new announcers are started off, I never went on with it because I just loved doing the graveyard shifts. But I’m also a bit of a night owl which is one reason it suits me, so I can potentially haunt this board at unexpected hours.

Hey I used to work a radio graveyard shift too! 1-6am Tuesday mornings in college, late ’80s. Good times…

Bit late now, but welcome to the forum! You too @Hazy!

It is! I was doing them in the days of carts and the new-fangled cds at the same time. The most complicated thing was the phone system!

Introductions have never been much of a strong point of mine, but I suppose it’s worth a shot.

Hello. My name is Jesse and I am 18 years old. I’m going to say this right off the bat: I’m not a long-time Beatles fan. In fact, it wasn’t until fairly recently when I got into the The Beatles. Not that I was never familiar with The Beatles, in fact “Yellow Submarine ” was one of the first songs I remember hearing as a baby, but I was only really into their biggest hits. The reason behind my new-found Beatles addiction was simple (and actually really stupid): I learned via a Cinema Snob video that in 1978, there existed a film adaptation of Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band starring Peter Frampton and The Bee Gees. I thought the idea of making a movie based on an album was absurd, so I decided to watch the movie for myself. Before doing so, however, I wanted to listen to the album for myself so I can have something to compare the film’s musical numbers to. What I heard shattered the stereotypical mop-top “dad rock” image of the band that I had ignorantly harbored for all of those years; I had fell in love with the album the second I heard the beautiful belting of Paul McCartney ‘s vocals. After three consecutive listens of the album on YouTube, I was ready to watch the movie… but I didn’t. Instead, I went straight to listening to Abbey Road  and while I loved that album as well, it didn’t resonate with me as much as Sgt. Pepper did. I guess The Beatles are like pot, the first try is always the best, but I was still longing for another hit, so I went straight to listening to Revolver , then A Hard Day’s Night , then Rubber Soul , until I realized, holy s**t, I still have a bad 70’s musical to watch. I still didn’t watch it; I found exploring The Beatles’ discography to be a much more gratifying experience than subjecting myself to a shitty Frampton/Bee Gees movie, so I listened to some more albums until eventually plowing through their entire UK releases.

…and the rest, as they say, is history

A man came down on a flaming pie and said “you shall join the Beatles Bible forum. That’s Beatles with an A”

And here I am. Male of 53 years in Redditch Worcestershire – Proud of my countries greatest 2 exports, The Beatles and David Bowie. I’ve always loved The Beatles – They are as near perfect as you are going to get in any 4 piece beat combo, although, guitar bands are on the way out.

Favourite aspects? The stories behind the songs and studio chat. Hello to you all a-hard-days-night-john-6

The Beatles are English - They have influences from all over - but they are English
