Hi everyone, I grew up in midwestern USA listening to the Beatles on my parents’ 8-tracks at a very young age and have been hooked ever since. I’m just shy of 40 now and I’m passing my love of the band on to my two daughters. I initially found this forum as I was searching for places to share my 10 year old’s version of Oh! Darling , so I thought it was only fitting to take that as my forum name. I look forward to searching around and sharing thoughts with other Beatle lovers!
Welcome, OhDarling! I grew up in Chicago and I have my own childhood memories of listening to 8-tracks in my father’s car on the way to school.

Thank you for the warm greetings! I’ll be sticking around. As my daughter gets more into writing her own songs, I am learning more about the technical aspects of music. As a result, I’m getting ready to appreciate the Beatles on a whole different level, and it looks like this is a great place to do that. I’m very interested in discovering what made their songwriting so special.
I’ll head to the cover songs thread to post her song. Thanks!

Welcome aboard – nice to see another youngster here
I am a really big fan of the solo albums as well. While I was sad when they split there are enough echoes of the great times in the solo work to keep me happy plus lots of new and different music to enjoy.

Hi, I found this forum by accident while trawling the internet to feed my intermittent attacks of Beatlemania, and it seems just the place! I’m a gen x aussie who played in a bunch of unsuccessful bands in the 80’s and 90’s as a bass player so my terrible opinions come with some musical qualification These days I’m trying to get work as an IT Trainer but I’ve had all sorts of jobs. I spend too much time on the internet discussing politics with younger people in an effort to engage them more than my generation was. I have a son in university but he prefers metal to Beatles pop oh dear.
The Beatles were part of the soundtrack of my childhood but it wasn’t until i was about 18 that I first heard most of their albums on vinyl as distinct units, as opposed to cassettes of The Red and the Blue. Later on I met up with another Beatlemaniac so we could practice our attempts at Beatle harmonies I’ve been through many phases of Beatle fandom, which taught me a lot about the phenomenon of being a fan itself. I was once a fervent Johnnist then a Paulist then a Johnnist again and now I’ve just given up and decided I prefer Ringo to the others A good drummer is very, very hard to find any time. I’ve read a bunch of the books, collected a few of the bootlegs, reissues, remasters etc. I saw Ringo and his band at Festival Hall in Melbourne 50 years after he first played there, which fits for me because the only Beatles record we had in the house was the Australian pressing of Beatles For Sale with the nice big picture of Ringo playing that night!

Hi, my name is Hayleigh I am 18 years old and from the United States. I have been a fan of The Beatles and their music ever since my parents introduced them to me back when I was 7 years old. My favorite Beatle is George and I think he is the absolute best guitarist in the world. My favorite song by the Beatles is “Piggies ” yes I said “Piggies “. Not only is it written by George, but I also love pigs in general. Some other things about me are I am a Freshman in College, I love Ballet Dancing, Pigs, Big Sunglasses, and hanging at the beach in the Summer.

Good choice in song. I find it highly underrated by people. I think it is one of the best Beatles songs ever.
Welcome to the forum! Hope you have fun here!
