I see my tendency for straight-faced sarcasm has failed me… I was kidding. That’s what i do.
It’s a bit difficult in writing. Sometimes I have to preemptively clarify sarcasm to make sure my meaning gets across, which of course completely ruins the joke.
I just have to curb the sarcasm on here… It’s easier.
You see, I know all that on an intellectual level… I just don’t care. At all. I’ll clarify it afterwards if I have to, but I’m gonna keep doing it.

@mithveaen and @mr. Sun king coming together walk among us mere newbies tonight! At the same time!
This is exciting and special!
Lots of those from the forums history are thought of with affection as lots of us read old threads, and sometimes resurrect them, others from the past – naming no names, though I’m sure you can guess – less fondly. Always good to see good forum members come back.
If you want to check up on how to use features and functions added since you were last here, you may find this thread useful:

It’s scary sometimes, @Ron Nasty. I was going to suggest the same for the guide and was also just aware of those in our midst.
We have the same thought too often.
Edit: unless Beatles history is involved, then I wish I knew what you’re thinking.

Good to see you back, @mr. Sun king coming together. I’ve read many of your posts since I’ve been here, and am looking forward to your new contributions. I’ve always thought you were older!
I thought he was at least 117, judging by the number of posts he made. Seriously, if you would like to be thoroughly entertained, look at the exchange here concerning the first End of Year Awards, for which mskct was apparently the originator, vote compiler, emcee, arbitrator and, well, King.
Edit: I haven’t had so much fun looking at old posts since I discovered “who sang the aahs.”
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I was going to put some highly creative and witty origin story here, but I’m currently too lazy to think of anything, so: Hi. I’m Clara. Asian, sophomore, female, INFP, classic rock enthusiast. (Funnily enough I do not eat with chopsticks nor do my parents hate me for being a B+ student. Strange.)
I was first introduced to the Beatles via, what else, the radio. Here we have a program called ‘Yesterday ‘ every Sunday which plays 50’s, 60’s, and 80’s songs (70’s songs get their own program, don’t ask me why). The program, of course, opens with the original version of ‘Yesterday ‘, which was my first Beatles song. I also heard ‘Till There Was You ‘, ‘All My Loving ‘, ‘When I’m Sixty Four’ and ‘Let It Be ‘. I also think I heard ‘Here Comes The Sun ‘ on another radio station.
At this point I liked the Beatles well enough. I wasn’t really a big fan of them, but I could name all the band members and list about a handful of their songs. It was a visit to a fast food chain that made me a Beatlemaniac…of all things.
One weekend we visited a restaurant called ‘Shrimp House’ which was fairly small. To make up for that it hard pretty good food and a widescreen TV attached to the wall. Currently playing was The Night That Changed America:A Grammy Salute To The Beatles and as we know that special was brilliant. I got hooked. Once we reached home I went online and listened to the previous tracks I heard on the radio, She Loves You , Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds , I Am The Walrus , Don’t Let Me Down , Help ! , Hey. Jude…
The rest, as they say, is history.
A few more information about my Beatles preferences. My favourite Beatle is…um…I don’t want to waste your time so I’ll just say that it switches from time to time but currently it’s either John or Ringo. Favourite album is Abbey Road , and my favourite song by them is…well, if I had to name a few, Help ! Here Comes The Sun , Eleanor Rigby , Don’t Let Me Down , I Wanna Hold Your Hand are all pure strokes of genius.
That’s all I’ve got to say.

Mein Gott, this is indeed a surprise – I THOUGHT the post count beside mr. sunking’s name looked different from what I remembered it as!
Welcome back, old man! You know we’ve all missed you, and I missed your withering sarcasm way back in May of 2013 when my Leafs collapsed to the Bruins in truly epic fashion.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Thanks for the welcome back. And be rest assured I gave my Leafs fans multitudes more sarcasm than I’ve ever considered humanly possible. Thanks muchly!
(By the way, I thought of you when I heard Miles Davis’ Blue in Green on a TV show I watch a while back. Beautiful piece of music, eh?)

Welcome aboard Clara – very nice to meet you. INFP? My Myers-Briggs is SO rusty.
Cool about the chopsticks; my soon to be ex-spouse is Asian and when we asked for a fork and spoon at Asian restaurants they always gave them to me, and we always had to swap as I can chopsticks and she can’t – interesting take on stereotypes.

Greetings from Glasgow in Scotland, which as many of you will know, is in the UK.
I am old enough to remember when the Beatles phenomenon hit, and there will probably never be another one quite like it. Just before the Beatles struck, my older cousin used to ask me a question: who did I like best – Cliff (Richard) or Elvis?
My reply was always the same – I preferred the Shadows, Cliff’s backing band. He liked Cliff but I liked bands who played guitars all the time rather than solo singers.
At some point I became aware of Please Please Me and Love Me Do – I can’t recall which one I became aware of first – and by the time From Me To You came along, I was pestering my dad to get his secretary to write down the lyrics. Secretaries used shorthand to write down the spoken word.
I was hooked. The Beatles were irresistible, and I owned seven Beatles records before I could afford a record player.
As time moved on, I stuck with my Beatles allegiance, and then as I got older, I got into the likes of Cream, Purple and Zeppelin, but the Beatles were always there as my musical guiding light.
Eventually, music took a back seat as I concentrated on different aspects of life, but I never forgot about the Beatles and what a significant influence they had been on me.
Technology now allows me to look back at history being made and the more I have watched the Beatles on YouTube, the more I find I still enjoy their music, and it’s great to get access to clips that most didn’t see at the time.
I’m now listening to some post-Beatles and Wings Paul McCartney music, and enjoying it too. I’m expecting Santa to bring me some Paul material later this month.
Paul was always my favourite Beatle and that’s how it used to be in that incredible era – people at school didn’t ask if you liked the Beatles – they asked who your favourite Beatle was!
I’ve had a brief look at this forum and no praise is high enough for those who are keeping the Beatles flame burning. Well done to those who are making this site such an informative place for Beatles fans old and new.
Thank you.
