Sorry to hear that @trcanberra. If there is no way forward its better in the long run to find out early than be further down the line and find out – as disappointing as it may be now. But there will be someone out there and when you meet that person all the previous hard times wont matter.
And as you say you had a great week so that is something.

Cheers – lucky I am half Greek. Now confirmed I am in the middle of an amazing tragedy.
Like you said, good to find out now. I may go into a hole for a few days to lick my wounds but will be back when I recover.
Once more unto the breach …

Chin up @trcanberra . Some quirk of fate made sure you discovered that site before any permanent damage could be inflicted. Take it as a sign that the universe may be swinging over to your side and protecting you. It could have been much worse.
Some people are fortunate to have a shoulder they can lean on. Here at the good ol’ BBFF, you have scores of shoulders. Lean away!
Best of luck in your studies, @Hazy !

Good luck with the second semester @Hazy (i have no idea what a semester is being in Scotland)? How many years away are you from reaching your career goal?
@trcanberra, as long as you come back out of the hole. “We cannot time our wounds to heal on human clocks”.

So similar to a term here in the UK of which there are normally three; August -> Christmas holidays, January -> Easter, Easter -> June or end of the school/college year. The things you learn.

Who goes to school in the summer unless they really need to? Would have to have knocked me out, carried me in and then chained me to the chair to do so. Was bad enough being in every other term so no chance i was giving up the good weather.

^I took classes during the summers for both master’s degrees. I just wanted to finish them as quickly as I could.

^^ Same here, both times I went to college. It was more enjoyable the second time around, as I was studying photography (color film processing one summer and beginning Photoshop the next).
The first time was awful. I took calculus to fulfill the math/hard science requirement, and ended up in a class full of high school whiz kids trying to get ahead, and I was the dunce. I received the only D in my life for that, lol. Thank goodness that was still considered passing, as often these days, anything below a C means a retake.

@trcanberra, I will help you investigate the next potential. Just ask @Joe about my abilities to find out things about people…even pictures of them that they didn’t know were being taken. No one worry…it wasn’t a Fifty Threads kind of picture.

A semester is half of a school year.
At my current school, they call spring and fall semesters, and winter and summer “sessions,” as they only last 6 weeks. So our spring starts in February, later than most.

Ha ha – thanks AG and all.
This is going to make one of those odd films that veer wildly from broad comedy to greek tragedy.
She is still messaging me as I am the only guy she knows outside the HK maid circle – so I have gone from romantic lead to platonic cry on shoulder dude who has a crush on the heroine but can’t say anything because he can’t compete with a 4-year relationship and a dying loved one.
How messed-up is all that?
Oh, did I say thanks to everyone?

Hmm – I will have to think about that one.
Sigh – platonic best friend role nailed down for certain.

Here is a trope about fictional people who have that problem.
Aargh – I’m trapped in a trope and I don’t even know what a trope is. Someone help me break out.
