^ How was her English? Does she love The Beatles?Seriously, your cheering section is behind you 100%.
Her English seems quite good – we were only able to chat a short time as her phone battery died – hopefully we will try again today. I’ll see if I can mention the Beatles to gauge the reaction and then maybe add mmm’s reference
And thanks all for the support.

This day was good until I came home. Two different kinds of bad news that concerns two people I love. I’m trying to stay positive but it’s really hard.On a lighter note, bought a new bed (it’s huge, never going to leave my bed again) and some other stuff to change my bedroom. So that’s good.
I love big beds – I have had at least a double since I was about 14.
Sorry to hear about the bad news – thinking positive thoughts down here.

GRRR! And brrr!
I’m so stupid/pissed off. I forgot my winter hat on the bus this morning (usually keep it on my head but stupidly felt the urge to take it off and leave it on the seat beside me) and had to endure the 12-minute walk from bus stop to office hatless. In -21 C weather! I spent the last half of my journey with my scarf re-wrapped around my head and ears like a babushka. (I looked pretty silly but would’ve looked sillier with my ears frozen off.) Bloody Canadian winter.

Ouch. That hurts just reading about it. Chills.
I used to bite my fingernails (until I was in my twenties). One day I woke up and said “I don’t want to bite my fingernails anymore.” I quit just like that.
Now, I wish I would wake up one day and say “I don’t like chocolate.”

…hahaha, and the morning gets hilariously worse! I take another, final look deep inside my backpack just to make sure that the spare hat I used to carry is no longer inside. And no, it definitely is not there…but I DO find something else: A library book I thought I returned two weeks ago! I imagine the late-return fee is probably up to about $8.00 and counting by now…
XPost – If only chocolate tasted more like your fingernails and less like deliciousness, quitting would be that much easier, Ahhh Girl…

Someone in your city is enjoying that nice warm hat you left on the bus, @Von Bontee. I know that isn’t much consolation at the moment, but maybe it is something. Guess it is time to go hat shopping.

Well, I fortunately have a couple of spares at home, one of which can be seen here*
https://www.facebook.com/scott…..omfield.71
so all I have to do is make it to the bus (and then to the library!) and then home and I’m good.
(*It’s an official Team Canada Junior Hockey hat and I was watching the first game of the World Juniors, is why I was wearing the hat indoors. As to why I wasn’t wearing my glasses, I can’t quite remember, I’d had a few drinks. PS. Canada went on to beat the Russians for the gold )

Think bigger. Something like, “I don’t like not having the winning lottery numbers and I detest not giving half my winnings to Zig”.

I can’t post images from this account at work for some reason! Here’s the regular facebook page if anybody wishes to look at it (because I am a SHAMELESS EXHIBITIONIST)

The hat in question is in the second image down. (the FIRST image was taken on Xmas morning. Notice the big red book at my fingers. It’s the “Story Behind Every Beatles Song” epic that sis-&-bro-inlaw got me! )
(BTW, Ahhh Girl, the library is conveniently right next to the bus terminal where I’m dropped off every evening!)

Convenient yes, but it’s not a very great library. I can find a half-dozen identical Russell Brand bios yet not a single one of Beethoven
If only you worked there, Ahhh Girl, I’m sure it’d be much better!
Awww, thanks. I would work hard for my patrons. Just like I do here.
Yes, I shall think bigger, @Zig.

At the end of middle school or high school or whatever it’s called. Secondary school? Oh whatever. At the end of that we had to return all books and a friend of mine discovered she still had these 3 books she borrowed in 7th grade. Her late-return fee was over a 300 euros! I’m not even kidding, I was there. It was shocking. Such a pity about the money, could imagine a few nicer things to spend 300 euros on. I found it strange she never got one of those reminders. I mean, I once was 2 days late or something and got a reminder, a letter. So just think of that, at least you’re not her I guess?

…and now, to end the wonderful day, I discover I made a clerical error on November 14 that will have to be fixed tomorrow! Requiring me to put in an email request that will add about two minutes to two other peoples’ workload…and immeasurable humiliation to myself because I HATE MAKING MISTAKES AND BEING CONFRONTED WITH THEM! and DAMMIT I WANT A CIGARETTE!
It’s five minutes to five and I’m going home while the weather’s still reasonably mild. Tomorrow will be a better day!
Good day to you all
EDIT: That’s CRAZY, Linde! Surely they should’ve allowed her to just claim she lost the books and have her simply buy replacement copies for much less than 300 Euros!

I wouldnt pay the fine @Linde. Not worth wasting €300 on. Worst they can do is send a strongly worded letter.
Sorry you had a disappointing day @Von Bontee. Accepting and learning from the mistake will make you a better person.
I spent around 5 hours arranging my ‘White Album ‘ folder in iTunes, something i hadn’t been motivated to do for about 6 months. I’m very chuffed with myself. And its been lightly snowing so went for a walk in it. I love the snow. Really want a mad blizzard however, one of the best walks i’ve been on is in a snow blizzard a couple of years ago. Went out in light snow, came back in about 3 foot of snow.
Another fascinating post by meanmistermustard.

You know that iTunes will just rearrange it on you sometime in the night over the next week or so, right?
