“What’s your son going to study?
Woah, that’s very cool! I hope she’s alright. What will she be doing there? Just travelling and sightseeing? “
He is going to major in media and communications – it looks quite interesting (I also have a Journalism major in one of my degrees).
My daughter is just on holiday after finishing an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design – so seeing the sights and taking hundreds of photos. I am a bit worried about her being alone there for so long but it seems I raised one very independent young woman – I just have to learn to let go.
She is a black belt in taekwondo at least so knows how to stay out of trouble – it has given her a lot of confidence. She is also a medal-winning fencer but I don’t think she will be carrying any sabers around with her
I hope something suitable comes up for a placement for you.

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

I’m back in school – this time with an online course. My first. It’s hard not to get fidgety and professor’s voice is, much like that of the one teaching the online Beatles course, sooooo sleeepy.

Yeah it sucks. Need to get skype up and running as their daughter (my niece) is coming up to 6 months old and is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute and always happy and smiling. Everything is so interesting and new to her so her eyes are wide open, taking it all in and loving it. Sucks not being able to see her in person.

@trcanberra & @meanmistermustard, think about the old times, when we didn’t have the Net or Skype…
“Forsan et haec olim meminisse juvabit” (“Perhaps one day it will be a pleasure to look back on even this”; Virgil, The Aeneid, Book 1, line 203, where Aeneas says this to his men after the shipwreck that put them on the shores of Africa)

when you went out with your girlfriend with 3 pence in your pocket and were able to pay for you and her to see a couple of films in the morning, have a sandwich and cup of tea for lunch, go to the big foottball match, have a steak dinner in a fancy restaurant, go to the theater, get chips afterwards and get a taxi home and still have change left over for the bus to work in the morning.
Forgive me but i have to post it.

I’ve tried three or four times (lost count!) to take that Beatles course… Hasn’t worked out yet.

BT Openreach came down to my house, found a fault, fixed the fault, line working fine, man went away.
10 minutes later internet down, noise on line. Phone to get engineer down.
Plus some of the tv channels are not working (different problem). Got to get Sky down.
Fecking technology.
Went thru the system, about to make an appointment for a Sky engineer to come down to fix the sky dish and the call is disconnected. Phone them back and they want me to back thru the system. Screw that!! Awaiting a call back. What a fun morning.
And when you call they encourage you to hang up and go online to fix the problem. The online advice is to phone Sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve just been outside to take the dog out before bedtime. It is horrendous: freezing rain being blown in all directions by a howling raging wind. And did my dog thank me? No he did not. Just came back into the house with the expression of “what on earth was the point of that!? It’s fecking baltic out there.”.
This type of post is how you get to 11,475 in total.
Adorable dog gif.

Well, separated for 10 months now and into the new year I figured it was time to move on. I have no idea how to go about it so thought I would start by registering on an internet site just so I could rediscover what little conversational skills I might have once had.
Turns out that at least a thousand Chinese ladies under the age of 25 all want to marry me tomorrow. If I pay the crazy fee the site wants from me to reply to their letters.
So, I turned to a free site and had a few nice chats – who with I have no idea. And of course everyone wants to know why I broke up, which is SO hard to explain without being completely boring and sounding like a total loser.
Sigh – I WILL make this work

Hey @trcanberra , not many folk get a 1000 women asking them to marry him on first contact.
Being serious, you’ll find someone if you keep going. Give it time and maintain a sense of humour. If you talk about your ex like you do on here there is no way you’ll come acrosss as “being completely boring and sounding like a total loser“. If you want we can give you a ton of references (er, actually that might do more harm than good. Never mind.).

Cheers – it is kind of interesting in a somewhat surreal way, though at one stage there I was trying to keep up a conversation with 6 different people, then the soon-to-be ex decided to walk in and drive me insane, then I received an unexpected call from one nice lady in Hong Kong on one of the chat tools I was using. I had no idea you could call people on it and it scared the &*^%$ out of me
At least I think I found out my nerves can still manage major shock!!
