I had the idea of going up the road whilst the weather was at its best weather forecast-wise so walked the dog before i went. They got it wrong as dark skies flew in sending heavy hailstones plummeting to the ground and me darting back to the house. I’m going nowhere. Which isnt great as i have a very sore throat and no throat sweets. So its hot orange and honey with cinnamon.

I am a firm believer in gargling with warm salt water when I have a sore throat. I take packets of salt on my trips just in case my throat starts to feel even a little bit sore.

So, yesterday I had my extra awesome English exam, and I spent all the day in the awesome capital city. I have a little mountain in my feet because my shoes were broken and I walked a lot, but, in general, it was a very good day. I saw a lot of Beatles-related things, like a t-shirt with the Sgt Pepper ‘s moustaches, but it was too small, and some badges and keychains, too. In a library they also had Linda’s book, “Life in Photographs”.

But the most awesome thing is that All Together Now helped my brother, he told me that in the multiple choice part, he had something like “____ I have…?” and one of the options was Can, so he rememebered the “Can I have a little more?” part in the song and, well, he chose that, but this doesn’t remove the fact that he wrote “They has a tail”, when I repeated 3000 to him that it is “They have”.

And, in the writing part I indirectly mentioned this site, I had to write about my experience studying English, I had to include If I used English outside school, and I wrote that last month I signed up on an English website about The Beatles.

Finally, when I was in the bus, The Beatles started playing, it was like a little mix between You’re Going To Lose That Girl , I Need You , I Should Have Known Better , Drive My Car , Get Back and Magical Mystery Tour .

I’m sure you did well, @merch! I wouldn’t even know English wasn’t your native langue of it wasn’t for your wonderful location, “englishisnotmynativelanguageland!”

Greetings,

I just wanted to explain my period of inactivity briefly. Last Monday, my Dad had a mild stroke. He is in rehab now, but is making excellent progress, the only thing that he has trouble with is walking. His walking is not bad and hopefully he will be out by the end of the week. All of the doctors are surprised at how well he is doing and that he has no other symptoms. In addition, to that I had a 14-page essay due yesterday for English class. The essay was about the effects of the Treaty of Versailles on the rise of National Socialism in inter war Germany. Anyways, things are starting to calm down as finals are coming up and I won’t have much homework. Hopefully  I will be able to post more often.

@meanmistermustard Hope you sore throat gets better.

Look its a thingy! A fiendish thingy!

I hope you feel good about the essay you wrote. Good luck on your finals.

^ Hope your father gets home soon !

My wi-fi was again taken away cause of two reasons:

1) I still have a little flu and last week was terrible. Last week I didn’t go to school even a single day and one morning I was using     Wi-fi on tablet to browse BB’s forums. My father got up and saw me using wifi and was little mad and thought I was using it

since 6am but only used it for about 15 min before he came in (time was about 10 am)

2) I started studying for mid-exams just 2-3 weeks before and result wasn’t great (I think mmm’s advice didn’t work for mea-hard-days-night-george-4)

Now I have got internet back but Im going to study hard now so my result don’t get more bad and I might not be able to be on this site quite frequent and also seems like everyone on this site is having flu/sore throat.

I hope everyone who’s sick, gets better soon. I was also sick last week, but I’m better now.

@UnidentifiedFiendishThingy, it must have been quite a shock for you. I hope your dad recovers quickly and can go home soon.

Today I got my braces removed! I’m really happy but it feels and looks very weird.

@Hey Jude !, sorry your exam results werent great tho my way way of studying was 2 to three days before not weeks. I could never settle myself to study weeks in advance, things like watching curtains hang over the window were far more pressing. Some folk work that way, others over weeks, some over months; we are all different and therefore need to find which is better for ourselves. Good luck on studying and getting good grades.

[I hope that covers me.]

Best wishes to you and your dad, @UnidentifiedFiendishThingy. It’s good to hear that he’s recovering well and that you’ll have less homework to worry about. I know it can be very difficult to focus on your schoolwork when somebody’s ill.

@meanmistermustard – Hope the throat gets better soon. You are the opening singer at this year’s End of The Year Awards ceremony.

@UnidentifiedFiendishThingy – Wishing your dad a speedy recovery. Hope you are doing OK.

@Hey Jude ! – Sounds like the flu is slowly going away. Feel better soon.

@Beatleva – Congrats on losing the hardware. Must be a great feeling.

@Zig, is the plan to not hand out the awards as everyone will have scarpered? Great way of ensuring that will happen if so. Monks who have stuck to their vow of silence rigidly for decades have broken it to shout very loudly and rudely for me to quit singing. ahdn_paul_01

Thanks everyone for the get well messages and thoughts. Have been sucking the life out of strepsils and throat sweets and have found the concoction of freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, boiling hot water and cinnamon to of great use.
