Over the weekend, I was talking to our neighbour and he mentioned his family had recently acquired a puppy they’d decided to call Ringo. Naturally, that got my interest and it turns out that they too are massive fans of that band we all like.

I’m on annual leave which is a delight as I’m not at work. Been to the cinema a few times and seeing ‘The Batman’ (yet another film where the creators couldn’t be paid enough to think of a decent original title) on Friday, also swimming, football, sleeping and walking on various days.

Give me a couple of hundred thousand pounds and I will happily do this for the next few years. Actually, I’m not greedy, I’ll make the cash last a decade.

Saw The Batman. A slow burn detective film that I liked but like the more I think about it. Very different for the live action movies.

Today is the first day of spring break.  I got work off from tomorrow to the 13th so I can take a trip down to Vegas with some friends!  It’ll be good to see the old stomping grounds again.  I haven’t been there in 2 years.

I agree with you. Saw it for the first time yesterday and I think I wanted to dislike the film for many reasons yet came away liking it. It’s definitely one which I will go back and see again as i believe you need to watch it at least twice to even begin to get it all.
The film is very dark tho, there is actual daylight for about 5 minutes in an almost 3 hour film.

It’s true another viewing enhances appreciation further. I saw it again today and had a greater time. One of my favourite Batman things that has been created. Looking forward to what they do next in this world.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-12Tired

My dad went into the hospital January 20 with covid and fluid on his legs. Survived covid, but has congestive heart failure and can barely walk at the moment because he had fluid on his legs and have not knee cartilages from work at a Shipyard 37 years.  He is now in a rehab center where he’s been in since the 17th of February.  He has lost 26 lbs in regular weight (he’s a big guy) and is doing physical therapy almost everyday. When he was in the hospital he had sooo much fluid they had pulled over 24 liters of fluid (2 liters of fluid per 12 hour shift). Since I am his next to kin I’ve filling out all of the paperwork for medicaid and medicare for the last month. I’ve been making back and forth trips from Alabama to Mississippi for the hospital, rehab, banks, medicaid, etc.  My dad was there for me in life, so I am returning the favor even if I’m tired. On top of this I am planning a wedding for the fall. I have customized for him as well. We thought about beach wedding, but since he probably will be using a walker we’ve decided somewhere where he can roll around.

Sounds bloody hard going. Make sure you get breathers, no matter what that consists of (even an hour walk to yourself is massive) and to look after yourself. You’re no good to anyone ill and will only make it harder for yourself and others. It is hard tho, especially as guilt can get in.

And have a damn good celebration at the wedding. Go all out and sod any hang-ups.

I saw ‘The Batman’ again today and it is a far better film second time round, really enjoyed it. Actually got that Batman moves from feared vigilante at the start of the film to a beacon of hope at the end which changes his whole outlook. I also didn’t spend a lot of the film looking at the new guy/car/villians etc which took away focus from so much else so it was easier to follow all the small bits that are actually important.

If you have only seen it once I would heavily suggest going to see it at least once more.

I’m taking part in the Dechox Leader Of The Snack Pack challenge for the British Heart Foundation meaning I’m not eating chocolate, sweets, cakes, biscuits and my own addition, crisps. It’s going well so far.

I am also currently doing the 10,000 steps a day challenge for Cancer Research.

I bought myself one of these

https://www.thomann.de/ie/harl…..atbass.htm

177012.jpg

It arrived today. I am beyond excited.

I’d love recommendations for basslines to start with. I’m a decent enough guitarist to play at a party, but I’ve never learned a bassline before. Obviously I want to learn all Paul’s basslines eventually a-hard-days-night-paul-8

My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

Looks great, meaigs! I think I would start with some of the early Beatles songs that you enjoy, then gradually build up to later songs like With A Little Help From My Friends and Something .

Toronto was really fun!

saw Tame Impala while I was there (that show and my best friend living out there now were my reasons for visiting), that may have been the best show I’ve ever seen

ended up picking up a 70s reissue of Beatlemania! With The Beatles (a Canada-only variant of With The Beatles , exact same tracklisting as the UK version) while I was there, among other records

nice to get out of the house for a lil bit

Ron Nasty’s New Experiences from Having a Bank Account #0~!?

I just did my first ever online grocery shop, to be delivered in a couple of hours. Amazon gave me a free Prime trial, thought I may as well use to get a free same-day home delivery save me having to go out. The usual meat & veg for the week, along with a bit alcohol; bottle of brandy, few beers and a couple of bottles of cider.

Just taking advantage of the Amazon Prime while I have it, because I don’t see much point in me keeping it.

Also signed up for Tesco as a wider range of stock than Co-op. Also thought Co-op was, despite it’s tradition of being there for the working man, rather expensive, with the weekly shop for one coming to £339.95 before discounts were applied.

Though I was taking advantage of quite a good saving on the alcohol side…

Life-Death-1.jpgImage Enlarger

I thought — Bit expensive! But if you can get 3 for £5.50… So, before the discount…

Life-Death-2.jpgImage Enlarger

…but because I bought three…

Life-Death-3.jpgImage Enlarger

I just had to do it! Always happy to try a craft beer, though I think it may have been in a craft beer advent calendar AG sent me, I couldn’t resist getting something priced at £229.09 for £5:50.

Anyone think Co-op may have messed up on price?!?!??

I’m convinced life is filled with cycles of the same events repeating that you have to face until you deal with them correctly – sometimes with the same people, other times not so. Every time you mess it up it the next attempt gets harder as you have all the crap you ended up with to mess with your mind, tho you could argue that you could have gained some knowledge of and from what went wrong last time so as not to repeat the same mistakes.

Been fairly snowed under with uni thus my reduced visitations here – although at least I get a week off over Easter, which I’ll use to have a private coaching session with a former international test cricketer ahdn_john_08_gif
