I got my covid booster and flu jag on Thursday after four days of doing everything to get rid of a cold, thankfully there have been no ill-effects. Today will be spent watching the rest of part two and part three of ‘GB’ and doing everything needed to get ready for Tuesday as tomorrow I’m working and then I’m on my holidays (unless something happens).Following that we hit the Christmas period and at some point before the 14th December I will rewatch the entire ‘GET Back’ film – tho I may extended Disney+ so I have access for longer. Plus they have ‘The Muppets Christmas Carol’ and ‘Home Alone’, two of the greatest Christmas films ever (I have ‘How The The Grinch Stole Christmas’ which is another) .
Had my flue Shot on thuesday too but wont get my booster until Jan/Feb of 2022. had my second shot in late july so 6 months from then. Hope it will get better here with the organisation until then.
I really recommend D+. They have some exclusive Marvel and SW content nowhere else to be found (legaly). I think they deserve some endorcment.

I think I’ve been issued a lifelong ban from Star Wars fans as the only two things I like about it were JarJar Binks from part one (I’ve only ever seen the film once as it was appalling and I was bored senseless) and the Ewoks from the cartoon. I’ve seen bits of the 70s originals and they always bored me as well. I’ve seen a few Marvel films in the cinema but I don’t care enough to sit thru a film at home.
I love watching ‘Get Back ‘, it is the best film/programme I’ve seen in years, but even then I find it hard to spend three hours watching part two as I get restless and even that was done in two parts. Part of it is I struggle with concentrating for a sustained period of time (it’s a health thing), another is as kids we rarely sat and watched TV, so after a few hours I’m looking for something else to do. It’s the same for multiple TV episodes; watching six episodes is either done over two days when ill or two years as I lose interest.

Got my booster shot booked which is a relief particularly with this Omicron variant about.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’m debating whether to get the coronavirus booster now or see if they tweak the formula in response to Omicron.
So I was wondering why they skipped some Greek letters to get the name of this variant. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/1…..covid.html
…the next letter in alphabetical order was Nu, which officials thought would be too easily confused with “new.”
The letter after that was even more complicated: Xi, a name that in its transliteration, though not its pronunciation, happens to belong to the leader of China, Xi Jinping. So they skipped both and named the new variant Omicron.

I would be of the opinion to get it now as you’d have at least some protection against the Omicron variation. That is if you’re booster is due. Who knows how long it will take to get the vaccine tweaked and out to the masses.
After a couple of really crappy months of illness, endless hard goings at work and 22 months of Covid in the world, I’m on my holidays. Three football matches to go to, a pool and gym (if not closed, it’s covid times), and a large cinema in town.

This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. Could have been made up by a hardcore Star Wars fan as the most controversial opinion possible. If only you added Rise of Skywalker to your list of favorites

I loved the Ewoks cartoon, the BBC showed it when I was a young kid. Was years later I discovered many Star Wars lovers hate the Ewoks. No idea why.
Never seen ‘RoS’, had no idea it existed.
‘Star Wars’ is stupid anyway with the first film being the fourth, the fifth being the second, the films getting reimagined, bettered and changed every 35 minutes by George Lucus. And that’s ignoring the fans who could start their own war if you said something they didn’t agree with.
If I ever want to start one I’ll just stand up in a convention and talk about how I liked JarJar as I know he’s hated with real fire. Added something to a truly dreadful film.

Plus the fans are as bad as Beatles fans when it comes eviscerating to new content that is being released.

It was snowing over night and this morning and I love snow. It’s beautiful and simply makes everything look stunning.
Every time it snows I’m reminded of walking in Glasgow a handful of years ago when people came out of a building complaining about how inconvenient the snow was. Everywhere you looked it was stunning. Then a year or so later in Aberdeen I was texting someone about how beautiful it was with the snow falling and was reminded of the lyrics
“Some things take so long
But how do I explain
When not too many people
Can see we’re all the same
And because of all their tears
Their eyes can’t hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn’t It A Pity “
Maybe it’s out of context but in my head there’s a connection. Folk get so caught up in the hassles and annoyance to miss how beautiful it all is.
Which reminds me of ‘The Light That Has Lighted The World’.
That’s my daily ramblings of the week.

I love snow too! While I very much understand a lot of the negatives (shovelling, more difficult driving, treacherous sidewalks, getting dirt and water everywhere, etc. etc.), it’s never truly Christmas – or winter in general – without a healthy amount of it. The way it gently blankets everything and reflects the Christmas lights and sunshine is so lovely. I’m certainly glad to live in a part of the world that gets lots every year.
For the past little while I was a bit disappointed because we hadn’t had much of anything in the way of snow, but just a couple days ago we got a bit that stuck! Hopefully the rest of it will show up soon.

If anyone loves cleaning I’m very happy for them to clean my house, I find it so dull. No travel costs but I’ll leave milk in the fridge so you can get a cup of tea. There might even be bread in the freezer.

Annoyed with stupid staff at my bank (not all of them are stupid, but the two I dealt with last two times I went in have been).
Put £200 into my account a week ago last Monday so I could start using my debit card. Just after tried using it a couple of times, to do a top-up on my internet online and to check balance at an ATM, and both times refused. Went into bank saying I’d just been sent the card and it wasn’t working. Was told MasterCard were having issues but that I could still get cash over the counter.
Same thing happened last Monday, told them the same, and that it was getting annoying that the card wouldn’t work, but was told MasterCard was still having issues, and there were now signs up by the ATMs that MasterCard were having issues. Wasn’t happy but with them having signs up saying there were issues with MasterCard just accepted.
Got paid today, and still the card was unusable. Went into bank to get out cash, and find out if they knew how long the issues with MasterCard were going to go on. He asks me what I’d tried to use it for, and I told him to do an online top-up. He said that the problems were only with ATMs, and asked if the card had been activated. I looked at him blankly. Activated? No one’s said anything about that.
Had either of the previous two asked that my card would have been working, as it now is thanks to him. There was nothing it either letter – the one with the card, or the one with the pin number – that mentioned needing to go into the bank to get the card activated.
Have now used my card for the first time to do an online top-up, and can now start to sort out moving from PAYG to a contract which will save me a lot of money.

Glad you’re over that bump, RN, and here’s to a smoother future with the card!
I just got back from a holiday which contained a fair bit of bushwalking and eating (and not much else)… Much needed break after a long 2 years!

Got my booster and flu shot today, so hopefully I’m armed with three shots on top of having the virus last year. I was actually due for my booster and flu shot back around September and October, but I put it off because of everything going after father in laws death and trying to find a weekend when I wasn’t busy. When I got my second dose I was exhausted for five days straight….during a work week. I was like nope not again. I figured I’m going to New Orleans next weekend for my birthday, there is this new variant out, and I work in home care, so I’m not going to chance it.
