A group from an old workplace are talking about meeting up. I know how John felt about Beatles reunion talk. I’ve moved on and simply don’t feel like it, even though there’s no real bad blood there.
Then don’t. No point going back if you’re not going to enjoy it or get anything from it.

Offline I get to do a “lite” audit of my library association’s financial books today. It doesn’t involve an auditor. Just the people on the committee have to go through the books and make sure everything matches up. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

There will be other opportunities, @Rube. I used to work there myself about ten/fifteen years ago. I loved being able to listen to new albums as they came in and having first pick of any that had gone on sale. I remember having a copy of the Beatles Mono set sat in the stock room for about six months in 2009/2010 before I finally bought it.

I have worked 70 hours over 6 days, my being is hanging on to movement just enough to get me to the local shop and back before it completely stops. Thankfully thunderstorms are forecast later so a reason to do nothing but stay inside. Far more sensible amount of hours over the next couple of weeks.
On Monday I’m going to the theatre thanks to getting the voucher that was applied when covid hit but which expired during restrictions reactivated.

Couple years ago on the forum (tried to find the post; couldn’t) I mentioned a brunch date with Mombontee’s uncle Ken, then 95+ years old, in which the word ‘Beatles’ randomly came up in conversation…which prompted Ken to opine in, raspily: “The Beatles? Those guys were geniuses! They came from nothing, from Liverpool in England, no music training…and look what they did!” Apparently he’d learned much from some TV documentary on them…
…anyways thst was a year or two ago. More recently, great-uncle Ken unfortunately had to move from his retirement community to a full-time care residence earlier this month. And since he can no longer care for his cat, little Snowshoes is now a member of the vonbontee household! Everybody say hi:

Offline Haha, “Snowshoes” is what Ken named her; I mostly address her as “kitty” (real imaginative of me). Happily, she’s a very affectionate cat, flops onto her back for a belly-rub, follows me up and down stairs, brushes herself against visitors’ legs (except for Auntbontee, whose legs were already marked by her own pet pair of felines). And she knows a trick!
