In addition to waiting anxiously for college admission notifications, I got the first dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday (thanks Dolly Parton! <3). I haven’t really experienced any adverse side effects or anything besides the usual vaccine side effect of my arm being sore.
I get the second dose in April and I’m excited to be fully vaccinated

The joys of your phone busting in lockdown and not being able to replace it as quickly as you normally would.Seems my Housing Association has been trying to get hold of me, with little luck because they’ve been ringing rather than send an email.
Today they decided to send out a Housing Officer to see me, who it seems spent nearly an hour knocking on the door with me asleep inside. Her knocks cannot have been that loud, and she couldn’t have used the door buzzer, and didn’t raise me as I’d only been asleep a couple of hours, so she called the police, worried I might be dead!
Their much louder knocking quickly woke me, and I open the door – after pulling on some trousers – to four police in masks and a housing officer, luckily who I knew.
“We were worried about you and about to break in your door. We haven’t been able to contact you by phone and your well being became a concern. We thought you could be dead.”
To paraphrase Donovan: Not yet, you feckers! Not yet!
Did they say they would help you get your phone issue sorted?

The all-knowings spend their wisdom sending messages to deal with no matters whilst conveniently bypassing that which would have some relevant substance.

Nope, @Ahhh Girl, Sarah just went, “Oh! I forgot we had your email.”
Census day today so I have 50-ish minutes to go log in and do that. I may put my religion down as “Forumpudlian” this time, as opposed to my “Jedi” ten years ago.

@Ron Nasty Just in case you haven’t filled it out yet. Humanists UK is urging all ‘Jedi’ identifiers to tick No Religion:
Can’t I protest the question by writing in ‘Jedi’?
We understand that many people wrote in ‘Jedi’ in 2001 and 2011 as a form of protest at being asked about their beliefs. We are encouraging people to tick the ‘no religion’ option instead. The more people who explicitly identify as non-religious, the better chance we have of ensuring inclusive public services and secular, evidence-based policy.

Oh, I wasn’t protesting the question. The Force was strong in me back then. Not so much now.

it’s funny what tunes I’ll throw on that my dad ends up liking or disliking
I remember throwing on this one sound collage album I like (think Revolution 9 but for a full album) and he said “y’know, that’s actually not bad!” (his way of saying he likes something I put on)
but I threw on Metal Guru just now and he sorta scoffed and said “that’s not anything special”
how do you not like T. Rex?

Oof. I was in a similar boat last year. Had to suffer thru s**t earbuds for a month before I got myself a pair of headphones for Christmas

Same. I will make sure I get earphones or music device as soon as possible if the one(s) I have break. I find walking so boring if I don’t have music to listen to.

Hi everyone! I haven’t really been present here for a few months. The winter / most recent UK lockdown have been a real struggle for me tbh, paired with some family health issues (including with my 16 yr old cat!) – I’ve just kind of kept my head down and tried to plough through it.
But I’m feeling a bit more positive now some of our restrictions are easing. I had a lovely Easter weekend sitting in gardens with family and friends, it was just what I needed. I’ve also recently started having counselling, and me and my partner are also in the early stages of buying our first house. Onwards and upwards!
I hope everyone is healthy and happy. (Or if happy is a bit of a stretch for you at the moment, I hope you’re able to plough through for a bit too.)

I’m in the plough through state. I don’t want to look around me and see all the chaos swirling around me. I know I’ve let some things slip because I’ve had so much on my plate.
