My wife is divorcing me. I don’t have a job or a place to live lined up. It all happened very suddenly and unexpectedly.
Been there a couple of times. It’s really hard at first. You just got to take it one day at a time. Let me know if you want to talk / dump at all.

Just got back from Farnborough Hospital. I’d been feeling rough for a few days and blacked out on Saturday evening, giving my forehead a nasty knock on a bag of glass bottles waiting to be thrown out. Big bump on forehead. Rang NHS 111 to see if I needed to get checked out, they sent an ambulance, 48 hours observation, just in case because I live on my own. Freed just after lunch today.
Geez, that’s scary. Do you know why it happened?

I continue to work. Have new workers coming so should ease up in two to three weeks as it’s been going on for about 4 months now. It’s not so bad as there is little else to do at the minute aside from sit in a cafe wondering if I’ll get the virus whilst sitting there.

Thanks, guys. Apart from the general anxiety of not knowing what my circumstances will be, it’s also sad that we’ll be separating the cats. And the memories of good times with my wife remind me of how I was loved and cared for, which is painful. 2020 is a horrible year.

Sounds like 2020 is becoming everyone’s annus horribilis.
Hopefully over time the memories become treasures again

Wow, what a crazy month it’s been for me.
As I may have mentioned on here back in July, I ended up having to move out of my mom’s place and find my own in a new city five hours away or pretty short notice. The first couple of weeks, where I was getting settled in and didn’t have a job yet, were so cripplingly lonely, it was just awful. Now, however, I have gotten more accustomed to my new home–and I got a job! I will be working for a tutoring service, teaching middle and high school students things like history and government and college essay writing and test prep. I’m very nervous, but also very excited.
I also, just this evening, ended a very intense and tumultuous friendship that had ended last year and restarted in March. Who knew I’d be sending two long and emotional goodbye texts to people I thought would be lifelong friends within the span of just over two years. It’s sad, but I’m also glad that I’m able to emotionally move on.
I see what’s going on in other people’s lives here, and I just wanted to send love and support to everyone going through a tough time right now. Whether it’s getting better now or later, it will get better.

That’s really neat, Jules! You did a great job!
I think it’d be fun to try a project like that myself, but we’re renting our house and I don’t reckon the landlords would appreciate a giant Tom Petty mural or something in one of the bedrooms. I’ll stick to canvases for now.

Do a giant canvas and lean it against the wall and make believe it’s a mural

Hm, that’s not a bad idea! I might have to try that out instead. Would probably be mighty expensive, though.

Less expensive than the wrath of your landlord (and parents)

I continue to work a lot, keep saying it will soon ease up and maybe it will next week. So I remain largely absent from posting on here. Hello all.

Not sure if this should be on the coronavirus thread, but it seems more fitting here:
I’m currently self isolating for 2 weeks after coming into contact with my sister, who then tested positive. I’m about 6 days in and feeling okay, a bit tight chested but unsure whether that’s just how anxious I am about the whole situation. I’m also social distancing from my other half just in case, he’s sleeping in the spare room (which is his home office/gaming room anyway so he’s happy enough!)

I’m sure you’ll be fine @kelicopter. Anxiety depresses your immune system, anyway, so try your best not to worry too much. Best wishes
