It is done and with that the final assignment of my undergrad is done.
All I have left is a 2-hour timed exam next week and then I’m a free gal, free to enter the world of unemployment- woooooo.

I get that, @QuarryMan, the free will question gets old really fast. For my own project I was mostly concerned with Buddhism (including Indian Buddhism), and less so with other traditions such as Hinduism, Jainism etc. However, I do have plenty of recommendations!
If you want a sourcebook with primary texts translated, I recommend A Sourcebook in Indian Philosophy by former president of India Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. That was the assigned text in my Indian Philosophy class in college. If you want more of a scholarly take on the subject, I’d recommend both Indian Philosophy (also by Radhakrishnan) as well as Introduction to Comparative Philosophy by PT Raju. The latter covers Western, Chinese, and Indian thought, and I also had the honor of helping transcribe a manuscript of Raju’s unfinished magnum opus, which has yet to be published (he spent the last years of his life working at my college, so my advisor had access to his papers).
Hope those recs are helpful! This is the kind of stuff that gets me excited

Cool.
You’ve picked a great time to go out there and bask in all the employment opportunities there are just now.

Today I baked bread and made homemade soft pretzels with my mother and sister. I’m also on the last season of Frasier and am having a existential crisis about what the heck I’m supposed to watch once I finish it…
Also, today the new high brass captain for the 2020-2021 season of marching band made a group chat and there are only 6 of us– 4 trumpets (two seniors, including moi, a junior, and an upcoming freshman), a mellophone (junior), and our drum major who also plays mello (also a senior). We better get a crap ton of brass freshmen after I graduate or else our band is going to whittle down to nothing but woodwinds
Furthermore, I had a meeting today with the drama club via Zoom about our “Talent Showcase” and basically we’re planning on having us, the students of the drama club, create our own original material (skits, etc. and, most importantly, songs!) to perform so as to avoid being struck by copyright claims and what not– there will also be a GoFundMe page since our showcase also serves as a fundraiser this year, but since it cant happen in person we can’t make money from ticket sales and whatnot, so we’re relying on donations. I’m contemplating whether or not I have the capacity to write and perform my own song– I really want to! but I still have my reservations…..

Yeah I had a job for the summer that would have ended up in a full time job if I wasn’t a dunce but that’s gone now, thanks corona.

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll be sure to add them to my ever-increasing reading list.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Going back to work IN THE OFFICE tomorrow, but just for the day. Next week I’ll be there for three days. Kinda looking forward to going in actually for some variety in life after being at home all this time.

I’m starting back full-time from Monday (no idea what days I’m in but I go in on Friday to catch-up as I’ve been off for something like two months) and I’m with you in looking forward to the variety. Being at home is fine and it’s nice being able to sleep in and do little but to get back into a bit of normality and meaning will be good. Plus this virus is going to be around for months with no end in sight so might as well get moving now as there will be little change in a month or two in regards to it being gone.

Today I got my three little gold bars in the mail from my swim coach (they’re usually given out at the end of the season banquet but we couldn’t have one this year for obvious reasons: each gold bar is for each year that I lettered in swimming, and I put it on jacket immediately after I received so that they may have their place with my other pins on my jacket
My freshmen year is when I got the actual letter patch, and my sophomore year I got a little gold swimmer when I lettered a second time as well as a little gold trumpet for lettering in marching band
(I also got a towel embroidered with my name and year of graduation– yay for free stuff!)

Back home from a day in the office. It was fine, coming back home after a day away is so much better. You have a bigger sense of unwinding and being in a sanctuary. Listening to Beatles again now.

News on the laptop front – I should have it Monday. Despite saying it’s available for delivery, Argos won’t deliver to my postcode, not even to their local Saintsbury’s in-store branch. Ray’s having to drive about 30 miles to another Saintsbury’s to pick it up on Monday, and will hopefully drop it to me in the afternoon.

I had been doing a side part with my hair, but did a middle part this morning. Looks much better and easier to manage. I’ll do this from now on, like my avatar.

Middle parts are easier to deal with and are pleasingly symmetrical, but I like side parts better in general. (It’s just that I have to redo them every time I brush my hair…..)

For the first time in almost two months, I will be in the same room as people outside of a shop as I will be going into work to catch-up before starting back on Monday. Very handily I will be going in at almost the exact time I left all those weeks ago as I will avoid the busier times. I love a bit of neat symmetry.

I was once at an Irish camp with like 10 Dublin rich girls and then me and they were interrogating me about my hair and one of them asked how do I part it? And I was just like…..
……
…..
I don’t? Whatever way I wake up with it that’s how it stays for the day unless I wash it in the morning?
