Glad to see you back again @TangerineTrees , and I’m glad that everything is better now. I hope the decision you make with regards to schooling is the right one for youapple01

Hope your new therapist helps you in any way needed, @Turn Left At Greenland . I’m sure they will, and I hope the first meeting goes well!

Happy to hear you and your boyfriend are healthy @Sky999 , and you’ll both be able to continue helping society through these tough and awful times.

Awesome! My dad bought an ultrasound machine for his shoulder last week (his shoulder’s not that bad, but he bought it because it’s a gadget, and gadgets are cool…), which is far less useful.

You’re like my friend except you’ve actually bought useful stuff. She now owns a jacket and runners that have multiple pairs of tits on them– spent about €150 on them, worth it.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Watching ‘You Only Live Twice’ and finding it’s a real crap Bond film. Most of the time its Bond being nice to the Japanese whilst doing the obligatory sleeping with any female (thankfully their alive) yet we’ve gotten near the end and he’s now descended to a bit of 60’s racism towards the nice Japanese people.

The Simpsons and Austin Powers parodies (ignoring the third AP film) are much more entertaining.

I am pleased to announce that I received Honors on my Senior Independent Study in Philosophy! While I did not manage to fit in any Beatles references into the project itself, I think I can say that George’s love of Indian spirituality definitely had something to do with my choice of topic a-hard-days-night-george-10

Congratulations! Indian spirituality is a really interesting topic that I’d love to look more into – if you have any book recommendations I’m all ears. And yes, I’m a first year politics & philosophy major; the essay in question was on free will, but I’m not as much into that kind of philosophy. I prefer ethics, political philosophy and aesthetics mostly.

I don’t study philosophy but I study music and was in a class called music of south Asia, which mostly discussed ethnography and ethnomusicology of the various regions in South Asia, however we also discussed aesthetics and philosophy, both in how in related and sets the foundation for music, while incorporating spirituality and religion. It is complicated, but I immediately understood why George was so taken by it.

Am currently doing a bullshit question where I have to talk about public transport and am debating whether a plane counts as public transport. It’s on a schedule, operates on established routes and you pay a posted fee for it but there’s a bit in my head debating whether my lecturer will go “nuh uh, they’re not supported by the government”, oh but some of them are!!

Surely the definition of public transport is who can use it not how it:s funded. Most buses and trains in the UK are run by private companies, doesn’t mean they’re not considered public transport. Private transport is your own car, or plane. Public transport is anyone can can use it for a fee.

It’s my thinking as well but the fear is riddling me. It’s worth 80% of the module and it’s too late to email him about it now so *sharply inhales*.

I’ve decided to contrast Deutsche Bahn’s high-speed ICE trains and their regional RE trains. Saying how lovely and chic the former one is and how RE trains are more for getting you from place to place (albeit on quite comfy seats). I’m avoiding talking about punctuality though as it is a common lie sold by the Germans that they are punctual- spoiler alert they are not.

I never had an ICE train that was on time- I had to wait between 30 minutes and 3 hours every time. The regional ones left on the second.
