Funny, I’ve been watching That 70s Show again too!
That reminds me I never actually finished that show. Got about three episodes into the last season and then tailed off. I’ve gotta say the humour of the show reaaally tails off by the end (all the jokes end up basically being the same trait for each character over and over) but I do like the long running plotlines of it.

I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Tomorrow I return to “school” from “spring break.” Not that much will change, it’ll just go from me binge-watching Frasier all day along and playing guitar to me doing school work all day long and then watching Frasier and playing guitar.
Ah well, the positive thing is that I’m basically guaranteed to get an A+ in APUSH because we’re no long taking tests and our entire grade is based on group projects that are easy As and then once we’re done with this Unit, it’s just studying for the AP test, and then after we take that it’s just movies for the rest of the year, baby and then after that I’m officially done with APUSH and can smoothly sail into AP Econ senior year

@WeepingAtlasCedars I really have no idea where St. Catharines is, I guess! I was under the impression it was somewhere not terribly far from Windsor.
Actually, I think you’re closer to Windsor than St. Catherines is:
But ah well, everybody makes mistakes.
In other news, I’ve got my first online test tomorrow, for Social Studies. It’s multiple choice, so I think it’ll work ok.

Ooo, I know this one!!! Not the first time it’s cropped up! AP stands for Advanced Placement, sort of equivalent to the UK’s A-levels, taken at that same stage in education (except A-levels are based on coursework and exams, and AP – so far as I understand – is just, until this strange year, exam based). APUSH is Advanced Placement United States History, so I’d guess AP Econ. is Advanced Placement Economics.

I took AP Biology my Junior year of high school. I did well enough to get 3 hours of college biology credit. I took AP English my Senior year. I can’t recall why I never took that test to try to get college credit.

Yeah, so the whole year of learning is basically preparation for that class’ AP test, which everyone takes in May and each test is scored on a scale of 5 (which we still get to take this year, but it’ll be a shortened version for each and online). If you get a good enough score on the test, then you have the opportunity to substitute it for college credit and get out intro-level courses/general ed. courses in college (it depends on the college, however, what test score gets you what. For example, there are colleges that accept a score of 3 or higher for credit/class substitution, however, a lot of colleges, like the ones I’m looking into, will only accept 4 or 5 for college credit. Also, sometimes the score won’t even get you college credit and doesn’t mean anything: like this one college I was looking at if you got a 3+ on an AP English test you could apply for an honors course but not for college credit.) Also AP classes just look good on your transcript and they’re weighted on a 5.0 scale for GPA instead of a 4.0 scale, so they’re terrific GPA boosters, even if you get a B, and they’re challenging but rewarding because they go more in-depth and prepare you for the hard work and time that college courses demand. Also, not every high school offers all the AP classes, which super-sucks for the students. Like if you go to a smaller, poorer school, as I do, you only get the option to take a handful of AP classes do to the school not having enough teachers to teach them (like we only have AP Physics 1, which is just college intro-level algebra-based physics, at my school because we only have one physics teacher, whereas a lot of bigger more wealthy schools have AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism). Here’s a complete list of all the AP courses, which my high school only has 10 of because of our small size 🙁
This year I’m taking AP U.S History and AP Language and Composition (which is basically a college course on rhetorical writing and analysis), next year I’m taking AP Micro/Macro Economics, AP Physics 1, AP Calculus AB, and AP Literature and Composition, so I have my plate quite full ….but it’s worth it because they’re courses I’m genuinely interested in and I really want that college credit (and good thing that my number one pick accepts college credit for all of these, given I get a score of 4 or higher lol)

My school also doesn’t have a ton of AP courses but I don’t mind particularly as there are plenty that I am interested in– I have no interest in electromagnetism in relation to physics or whatever so I’m not especially heartbroken that it isn’t offered. Plus, you can take the test without actually taking the class (although it’s not recommended) which I’m actually doing this year for one class… thankfully they’re all open-note now :).

Damn, I didn’t know that. What AP tests are you taking?
Also, yeah the only classes that I’m upset about my school not having are the physics courses, AP Music Theory, AP French (though we also don’t have any honors french classes which also super sucks), and all the AP art courses (especially AP Art History).

I just found out that I’m only halfway done with my associate’s degree because I’m stupid and didn’t find out credit requirements earlier and now I’m mildly pissed that I have another year or two of college to get through, but now I’ll have to pay for it because I’m almost finished with dual enrollment.
I’m low-key considering just dropping out now and apprenticing myself to a plumber instead… or reincarnating myself as David Bowie…

@lovelyritametermaid APES, APUSH, AP Lang, and AP World History. (Can’t take two history classes in one year (i mean, I guess I could, but I didn’t want to) and sophomores can’t take APs so I took regular World History last year… I’ve forgotten everything, it’s terrible, I’ll fail for sure).

I just read @MrMoonlight first post.
Jesus, what courage, to get into so much detail. I’m glad. You know, everybody on this forum (and just everybody ever) has a story just like that with minor differences. I know I’ve got mine, and I’ll bet most people do have their “first” heartbreak story, and they keep it to themselves. Don’t let anybody fool you into thinking you’re the only one. The difference is most people don’t have the guts to admit it and tell other people. I sure won’t be telling mine if you gossipy b******s were thinking I would Funny thing is, mine happened years after that post was first made, and many more will happen after this one. But I hope you’re okay @MrMoonlight wherever you are, and be sure, I know no person that with years and maturing hasn’t gotten the happyness they wanted and once thought lost forever. I’d love to hear how are you doing now.
It’s getting better all the time.

Ah yes, good old MrMoonlight. I think, last I heard, he’s in a much better place now, making music under the name of Lymerence. He was a bit before my time but I still think of him from time to time, and I’ve heard his music too, it’s quite cool

Yay! I have power again! I was told 8 o’clock at the earliest. Engineer got a note telling him I counted as a priority visit, and he jumped me up his list. Put £20 on my electric for free, and have a new key in the post.
