That’s not a bad idea at all, ASJ – might solve a few droughts too!
I think Wednesday’s record of an average high temperature across the entire country of 41.9C will stand – thank God – because here in Melbourne today (Saturday) will only be 23.
ScoMo can die in a ditch at this point. He very reluctantly, after much public pressure, gave an extra $11M to the firefighters – he just spent $250M refurbishing his private jet.

How and why would anyone spend a quarter of a billion dollars refurbishing a plane? When adjusted for inflation, we spent about the same price buying 1/3 of the contiguous United States via the Louisiana Purchase yet this guy spends it on a plane.
Anyways, i’m glad you’re okay and that Australia’s cooling down.

Indeed. Going to Hawaii while the nation burns is just disgraceful.
In other news, I’m in Milan!

Tomorrow’s the last day of school before Christmas break and I am so ready to relax (snip)
*laughs in college semester ended a week ago*
Not that I’ve had time to relax; I’ve been catching up on housework, sick, recovering, on Thursday I went to a party which was terribly fun (someone borrowed my guitar and we had an impromptu Beatles singalong ) and we ended up getting home at two in the morning and then the next morning my sister had her birthday party and wouldn’t stop bugging me to help her get ready so I basically got four hours of sleep and I spent most of Friday fitfully attempting to nap, which was miserable (I hate sleeping in the daytime) (the party was worth it though ), and this evening I have band practice and tomorrow we’re going to Georgia for Christmas. Maybe I’ll finally get to relax down there, but I doubt it — I still haven’t finished my Christmas cards so I’ll be working on those.
If I ever went a week where I did very little of either work or play, it would probably be because I was sick.

… Beatles Radio on TuneIn Radio has been my best friend throughout my exams. …I’ve listened to it so much though that I’m starting to hear the same covers over and over again. There’s one who sounds almost exactly like an older Paul singing Yes It Is , it’s quite eerie.
Any idea about who made this cover version, and are you willing to share?

I really liked this little piece from Michael Schreiber over at Hey Dullblog. He writes about the love affair John Lennon had, or may have had, with Alma Cogan. https://www.heydullblog.com/un…..rations/
.
The connection to 1) Yoko Ono’s arrival on the scene, 2) Cynthia’s acknowledgement of the sexual tension, and 3) the brief youtube of a free Lennon having fun and a warm loving laugh with Alma Cogan… is all very interesting.
Of course there is ample speculation but not that much over the top, even though I would need to check the hard verifiable facts. Like calendar dates etc.
Oh and I am writing another piece on biographical writing…

Oh my… stay safe JW…
The bushfires are now in the Blue Mountains apparently- that’s a bit too close to Sydney.
We’ve even got the smoke down here today. Insane how massive the cloud is.

We had a fire start in the next suburb to us on Saturday. Fortunately, it was quickly put out. Getting too close for comfort!

No problem, maybe it’s just me but it sounds really like ’80’s Paul, especially the first verse.
The double tracking on the chorus ruins it though- it’s unnecessary and makes it tacky.

We went to my aunt and uncle’s house for the first night of Hanukkah last night, which was very fun. I got to see my cousins, which is always excellent, and we discovered the “Jewish humour” and “German humour” Wikipedia pages, which were fascinating and gave us some great senior quote ideas. I also got some lovely books, including Pawnee: The Greatest Town In America, which I’m about halfway through (it’s AMAZING.) My uncle also gave me (!!!) Extra Texture on vinyl, which was incredibly generous and very very exciting!!!! So I’ll be listening to that soon. Overall a very lovely evening.

Today I am continuing my annual tradition of flying on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to LA to visit my dad (his birthday is the day after Christmas). It got me thinking: does the proportion of airline passengers who are Jewish go up on those two days? (I’m also visiting for Hanukkah, of course).
Sadly, my flight has been delayed by more than two hours, but at least I have Rubber Soul to pass the time with.

Sorry, I only have indoor rabbits. They lurk and tumble underneath my furniture, usually, until I get around to sweeping them up
