Get well soon @The Hole Got Fixed! Stay hydrated and get some rest! heartheart

On Friday, I helped out and performed at my drama club’s annual fundraiser called Christmas Coffeehouse. It’s basically a little cabaret-type thing were students perform Christmas songs and then we sell baked goods and have hot chocolate and coffee and Chinese auctions and such. Well, my school’s jazz band (of which I’m apart of) signed up to play “Hot Chocolate” and only two out of the five trumpets showed up (me and my friend). So, at the very last minute, I had to learn and then play the lead trumpet part to make up for the other trumpets’ absence. Long story short, I was very stressed out and I got really dizzy before I had to go on and almost passed out, but I ended up getting on stage and doing not terrible. I then spent the rest of Christmas Coffeehouse sitting and talking with the guy I fancy and he gave me a ride home, which was very nice. He showed me the cringy mixtapes his brother’s ex-girlfriend made, we (badly) sang along to Rufus Wainwright’s cover of “Hallelujah,” and I embarrassed myself after I forgot to tell him where to turn to get to my house. paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif

I was also out late last night with friends and my introverted self is very happy to have this Sunday to recharge my batteries by listening to music, cleaning, watching Disney+, and working on my research paper.

Television! How I long to watch television! But I’m not letting myself do it until I finish my screenwriting presentation, which is not going well at the moment, and so i have been doing everything I can that is NOT my screenwriting presentation. I cleaned the floors. Voluntarily. This is bad.

Cheers guys. Feeling a bit better (amazing what listening to Beatles does – currently One After 909 ) but hopefully I’m better for graduation on Wednesday!

I must say though – for anyone who wants to lose weight but can’t be bothered doing exercise (yes sorry I used the e-word), getting a virus is a great way of doing it – you’re only miserable for a week, instead of being miserable for months while you do exercise!ahdn_john_08_gif

Christ ASJ, that sounds like great fun… It’ll be over soona-hard-days-night-paul-7

Congrats lrmm – as a french horn player I know how yucky it is to have to learn an important part just before you go on stage for a brass instrument… but you did well!

My exam is in 3 hours my stomach is in bits-don’t know whether it’s stress or whether it’s a symptom of the rotten cold I got over the weekend  (universities are such germ havens, rarely got sick until I went to college).

My left hand finally felt good enough today for me to wrap Christmas presents. The operation on my right hand is coming up on Thursday. I know it is going to be harder to not use my right hand than it has been to not use my left one.

Best wishes @Ahhh Girl!

I appear to have caught a head cold. Tomorrow, I must self-medicate with copious amounts of Beatles and Floyd to speed my recovery.

Good luck with the operation, AG. At least you won’t have pesky presents to wrap post-surgery. heart

Exam #2 Update: I changed my mind on Sunday and decided to focus on Tariffs, and Brexit with Globalisation on the side because there was so much to learn for Globalisation. The globalisation question ended up being very nice and I could have done it but I decided to stick with Tariffs, and Brexit because I’m stubborn.

Anyhoo, I hope I did well and the lecturer likes my answer on how Brexit is affecting the Irish mushroom industry (the answer is: horrifically. Our general exports to the UK in our high-value goods; fuel, pharmaceuticals, chemicals etc. are up, our agricultural exports are struggling or down).

I have database tomorrow which hopefully, I should be ok for. It’s a case of “don’t panic, don’t panic!”‘ as Mrs Rabbit would say from The Animals of Farthing Wood. I then have HRM which eww and I have to write an essay for that this morning so that’s fun.

Sending fond wishes, thoughts and hope to those of you also doing exams now or in the near future- they’re horrific 🙂

Finals start tomorrow at my school… and then Friday starts winter break!!!

Honestly, I’m beyond ecstatic for this semester to be over; it hasn’t been a great one in more ways than academic. But I’m ready to pass (or fail) all of them and be done.

To everyone else who is taking exams, I wish you the best of luck. You’re going to do great! apple01john-lennon-salute_gif

At last, reviewing my (for now) final draft of a little essay about historical method and review of Beatles history… I write about a group of friends who discuss art and history and can’t avoid so many Beatles associations. So cool.

This could probably fit in the pet peeves or guitar threads but i’m never buying online again.

Last week, i ordered some special strings from Guitar Center and while they were supposed to be delivered within 5 days but after waiting all that time, i called my local Guitar Center, who told me they were at the post but today i went to the post and found out they never even shipped them. I’m so pissed because now i have to deal with UPS, who i hope don’t give me a hard time.

P.S. For all those who are curious, those special strings are Ernie Ball’s 6 String Bass Slinkys. I want to tune one of my guitars down an octave to emulate a Fender Bass VI (i have 3 Strats so i thought i’d be nice to have one tuned down an octave) and these would be the best option as they’re thick like bass strings but have normal ball ends like guitar strings. Unfortunately, my local Guitar Center doesn’t stock these strings so i had to order them online.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

^Sometimes that happensmccartney-shrug_01_gif but the pros of shopping online, especially for more niche items, generally outweigh the cons.

In my life…

Well, graduation just happened, I officially did school. Picked up two awards – duxed the music composition subject and got an ‘instrumental music’ award – basically recognising my contributions to the music faculty in general.

Woohoo!

I’ll be back at school in 10 hours time, recording Mr Blue Sky…paul-mccartney-facepalm_gifa-hard-days-night-john-6
