@Ahhh Girl said
When I went in to get my MRI, the attendant asked me what kind of music I wanted to listen to. I said Beatles if you got it. They played Get Back . That’s such a head-banging song, but I had to remain still! I also got Here Comes The Sun . The MRI didn’t take long enough. I wanted to hear more songs.

The guy said he didn’t get many requests for classic rock  or Beatles anymore. I told him he should suggested to people. I could hear him talking to the next patient, and he suggested Beatles to her.

It’s not that shocking, is it? Very 80’s, but that’s to be expected…

Well, that briefly came to mind as a possibility, but that’s Modern Love, not Modern Dance…

I generally either do my work right away or leave it til the night before if it’s short. If it’s a project or something that takes a while I procrastinate for a bit but generally start on it with at least a couple of days left and I have plenty of time.

Forget about what I said in regards to days easing up work-wise. I am now off for a whole two-and-a-quarter-days off before three days on, and on one day off I have training.

I look forward to my annual leave in nine days time.

I had a minor breakdown on Sunday with an assignment that I’ve been struggling with for about 4 weeks. It’s due this Sunday and I just cracked, was crying for about an hour saying “I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THISSSSS!!!!”. Luckily have found help since then and the project is mostly completed, just need to write a few more sentences. It should be submitted by Thursday.

We were in a group of 3, myself, a Danish lad and an Irish girl. I knew the Irish girl was rough the second I saw her, I said “oh it’s a pity none of us are studying this direct subject, we’re all from unrelated departments. Irish girls turn to me and says in a thick North Dublin accent “actuallyyyyy, I’m specialising in this subject this year!!!”.

“Oh nerts”, thinks I, “I’ve got a rotten egg”.

So one week after this has been assigned, I send a message on our chat, “let’s meet up after class and get the first bit of this done”. “Fine”, says everyone. Thirty minutes before class starts, I get a message “Sorry, I’m working this afternoon”.

So, she isn’t going to this difficult class at all, very good.

Danish lad and I do the work anyways, we decide to meet up again next week.

Irish girl: Hi, can we get this done this week? I’m going on holidays next week.

Me: …….. *internally* she’s leaving the college HALFWAY THROUGH THE SEMESTER to go on holiday??!? Oh God

“Sure” says I, “do this bit” and I gave her the work Danish guy and I have done to ensure she actually knows what she’s doing.

Three weeks later, Danish guy and I have got a sizable chunk done but I don’t think it’s right.

Irish girl: “Hi, can we start this?”

Me:  *internally* Oh ffs, you never sent us the original work I told you to do!!!

“Sure” says I, “do the exact same bit I’ve already told you to do that you never did”.

This happened once before, when I glanced in the group chat, no replyyyyy.

Anyway she then goes (on like the 2nd of November):

“Guys wasn’t this due for the 27th of October?”

And then I turned into the mean crab that I actually am; “If you’d actually been to the class you’d have learned he’s extended it to the 17th!”

“Oh I didn’t know that, I was sick last week”.

So including her working, her holiday, her being “sick”- she’s missed 4 weeks in a row of the difficult class….great.

Week 5 she comes in, sits next to me and Danish guy, promptly puts her head down on the desk and is asleep for 2 hours, like

1) how?!?!

2) so disrespectful and

3) why bother coming in?!?!

I look forward to a message in the group chat on Friday going…”so guys, when are we getting this done?”.

I cannot wait to write a big fat ZERO next to her contribution on the group project. Hohoho. I’ve already told the lecturer she’s not written a single letter in the project so she can’t go and complain to him afterwards about how we didn’t try to involve her.

No, you just never lifted your finger, hun.

You wouldn’t mind but she’s probably picked the 2nd most difficult stream to specialise in, this project is worth 30% of the overall module grade and she’s in final year, which is 70% of her degree. What is going on in that head of her’s, I do not know.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Bleehhhhh. I mean, I get it when people are feeling a little bit lazy Now And Then , but when they’re just never motivated to work or contribute at all, it’s like why did you even choose further education in the first place?? Especially when there are people who work really hard for it and don’t get in, it just feels like a giant middle finger to them and comes across really ungrateful.

Good on you for talking to the lecturer, though. She’ll get what’s coming to her.

I’m been a naughty child in another one of my projects. I’m analysing data and identifying trends based on a very famous ship that sank over a century ago (you got me?). Out of the database I downloaded which is about 870-odd passengers, I randomised it and picked the first 50, so I got a mixture of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class passengers

Well, the 2nd class passengers I picked just happened to be the cheapest of the 2nd class (one was also a worker for the company and so paid £0 for his fare), so the fares they were paying were the same as the highest of the 3rd class. Therefore, when I was analysing, say the range of the fares, 2nd class and 3rd class would be equally the same.

This was pretty much useless to me for all the comparisons I wanted to make in ‘price paid for fares’ so I may or may not have gone back to my metadeta and picked a few of the *ahem* wealthier 2nd class passengers to use in my project alongside the less affluent ones. Gives my graphs a bit more depth and makes my hypotheses a dollop more interesting.

Technically, I shouldn’t do it because it makes them not random anymore BUT I DON’T CARE.
