That’s a shame but it does give you the experience of having done the test for your next go, @50yearslate.

I mean, not really. It didn’t take long for me to fail so I really didn’t do very much of the test. 🙁 Also, I won’t be able to take it again until January. So that sucks.

That’s very odd, here unless you have a serious fault (like crash or run over someone), you always get your 30 minute test through, especially as it’s bloody expensive.

Best of luck with the next one Fiddy, you’re bound to do better with the extra few months practice.

Safe driving 🙂

I’d failed my first test when I was 18…..hadn’t really had much practice…….I recall during the test getting caught in two minds. I was pulling out left onto a main road, (in UK) and another car was approaching and signalling to turn left himself into the road I was exiting…….Should have been easy…..I should have pulled out there was time and it was safe to….But words in my head from my instructor played over…..’Wait until you are sure the oncoming car is committed to the turn…..he may have just left his indicator flashing…….So I waited……too long and was failed for not making normal progress…..Couldn’t complain.

The Driving tests (I had two) were extremely stressful for me.

To prepare for he 2nd one, because I’d already passed my full motorcycle license I’d bought a three wheeler…(Del Boy) Reliant Robin….(if you’re not British Imagine a car that if you put a football on the dashboard would look like a giant whistle …Not cool)……..By a curiosity of English law I could drive this willy nilly alone and without instruction on a motor bike license. It meant that with all the unfettered practice I enjoyed  I had nowhere to hide if I failed.

I was a competent driver by then but still a nervous wreck……Always sympathy for anyone taking the test.

Good luck

My band is playing a gig tomorrow for a Halloween homeschool teen dance, which we’ve had precisely four practise sessions to learn 12 new songs for ahdn_paul_01, and I also have to choose a persuasive speech topic due tomorrow and I have to figure out my Halloween costume, preferably by tomorrow as well (I was hoping to go for a moon-trousers Jimmy Page look but it might not happen in time a-hard-days-night-paul-10), and when I’m through all this I still have a mini-essay due next Wednesday. And we’ve been trying to clean our house out and I have the absolute worst time-management skills (hence why I’m here ranting about things instead of getting them done) so I’m going a bit nuts over here. a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

This is why I’ve been on a kick of these two songs. a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Sorry to hear that @50yearslate , but as others have said I’m sure with the extra practice you’ll do great next time paul-mccartney-thumb_gifI failed first time too, with multiple major errors that are… pretty embarrassing…. and may or may not include me having my headlights switched on full beam without realising for a good twenty minutes of the test before the examiner noticed paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif

And good luck for the gig @Beatlebug ! Sounds like a busy time but I’m sure you’ll power through Zep style a-hard-days-night-ringo-15

One of the companies I applied to generated a report on me by asking me like 12 questions- which totally reflects me as a person right?

Apparently, I work to a high standard, ensure I meet deadlines, voice my opinions even if they’d offend, don’t like too many challenges being thrown at me, like to consult other people before making major decisions, am future-focused, like building strong relations with people, and like training and development when it’s offered to me.

I wish we still had the poll option so I could do a ‘Will this company hire me?’ for everyone of these.

Thanks all! I sure did john-lennon-salute_gif I thought it went pretty well, all things considered. We had no microphones so I had to yell at the top of my lungs and no one could hear me anyway, so it didn’t matter that I didn’t know the lyrics very well paul-mccartney-thumb_gif ahdn_john_08_gif and our wizard-friend surprised us halfway through and I feel like people started paying more attention to us and our show magically improved after that, probably as a result of his wizardly aura a-hard-days-night-george-10 and, of course, I was also trying to be Wizard Jimmy as hard as I could. ahdn_george_06

And now I just want to sleep all day but I have Real Life to do. a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Edit: oh yeah, here’s the setlist

‘Knights Of Cydonîa’ – Muse (usually a set closer, we decided to open with it this time)
‘Creep’ – Radiohead
‘Square Hammer’ – Ghost
‘The Happiest Days of Our Lives’ >> ‘Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. II’ – Pink Floyd ahdn_john_08_gif
‘Heathens’ – Twenty One Pilots a-hard-days-night-paul-3
‘Werewolves of London’ – Warren Zevon
‘Zombie’ – Cranberries

INTERMISSION

‘Psycho Killer’ – Talking Heads
‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’ – Eurythmics, as covered by Marylin Manson
‘Paint It Black’ – The Rolling Stones
‘Thought Contagion’ – Muse
‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ – as covered by Muse, originally by Duran Duran
‘Planet Claire’ – the B-52s
‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’ – Blue Öyster Cult
Bonus Track: ‘Panic Station’ – Muse

Yes, we like Muse too much (they’re the one band we all unanimously agree on, plus they’re a trio and so their arrangements are usually conducive for our lineup); fortunately other people did too john-lennon-salute_gif

I failed my first driving test, and the second one I passed, but with the lowest score possible.  I don’t consider myself a bad driver, but when you got someone judging you, all the mistakes seem to show up.

I failed my chemistry test the other day. I spent weeks studying for it, and I got a 50 paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif. I had an A in the class, and I’m worried my grade’s going to drop a bit. It’s been a really stressful few weeks. With a combination of sleep deprivation, caffeine, and loud music, I’ve been able to study enough to get A’s in all of my classes, but I’m starting to get really stressed out. Also, the band I’m in is STILL missing a drummer, so the head of our musical department has been filling in for us. Still looking for a Ringo!

I’m sorry for the rant… but I’m just really tired and it’s been a long day.

My marching band got a really good score at our competition today (straight 1s for those familiar with the grading system). A B-17 bomber from WW2 also flew over the field during our show and it may be the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. WW2 planes are my favorite and I had to force myself to keep looking at the drum major. Thankfully the plane came back around later so I got a good long look.

So yeah, I’m living ahdn_ringo_09

So I finished my last school class ever last week (on Monday actually) and I’ve got this week of buffer before my first exam on Thursday – English… And in just a few short weeks, I’ll be done with school forever.

Sooo, my house at university had our Halloween party last night, and I had to go as a cheerleader since that was the costume I pulled out the hat. It was a lot of fun, though.
