a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Awesome, well done!

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I got a reply text last night saying thank you, etc. Today I’m thinking of saying if she wanted to meet again this week or weekend. I’ll just need to think of an activity – movie, ice cream…? I was thinking about her body language during the day, and I think where she was sitting, overlooking the water, was a big factor. If there’s a next time I’ll make sure we are directly opposite each other. But apart from that I thought it went well on reflection. I know we both felt comfortable around each other.

Thanks, I appreciate this forum and the feedback and support it gives. Dating is a new thing for me. I’ll explain why I put myself out there. I go to work on the bus and come home on this bus. I come come and feel unfulfilled, knowing the days become weeks, then months to years. I’m 30 years old and have told myself this cycle needs to break. In ten years I’m 40. The same age as John, which is a big wow. I don’t get an opportunity to meet anyone or signal that I’m interested. I went into this date literally blasting Hey Jude on my car speakers, “you were made to go out and get her”. Confidence really is king. I focused on trying to make someone who really was like a stranger feel comfortable. That’s a good start.

My dates with Ohhh Boy consisted of hours and days of renovating the house he bought. And he let me mow his lawn (now OUR lawn) with the riding mower. ahdn_john_08_gif I lived in an apartment during this time, and I was bored and wanted projects to work on. I got all I could handle.

That sounds like fun. My neighbor used to have one of those old-fashioned manual metal lawn mower thingies and his kids mowed the sidewalk with it, it was great.

Actually, that remind me of another lawnmower story… our lawn mower was broken so my parents sent my brother and I up the street to borrow one from a friend. We were walking back down the street, pushing the mower along the sidewalk in front of us and getting a lot of strange strange looks (either because we were taking a lawn mower for a walk or because I was laughing hysterically the whole time). Some guy walked past us with his dog and the dog gave the mower a sniff and I assured him ‘don’t worry, he’s friendly.’

My brother made me push it back by myself ahdn_paul_01

Today I went to the cinema where I saw ‘IT: Chapter Two’ and ‘Wolf’. ‘IT:C2’ was very good, ‘Wolf’ was one of the worst films I’ve seen in a very long time and where at least half of those in the screening (around 15) walked out during the film and at the end, someone said: “Is that it?” Holes in the plot were bigger than in the Sea Of Holes , accents came and went without much notice from the actors, and acting and dialogue so bad you’d find better when watching two drunks trying to recite a Shakespear play they’ve never read.

New laptop tomorrow. Already arranged that a friend will pick me up at 8:50 and run me to Argos for the purchase of a new HP laptop.

Just a few more hours on this fecking phone should nothing unexpected intervene.

Going back to college for my second year in Thursday. I found out in the holidays I passed my maths resits so I don’t have to do them again and I’ll hopefully get more free time to compose on Logic, which means sharing more of my musical ideas with you guys on my arts threadahdn_john_08_gif I’ve been really happy and feel like I’m on a roll experimenting with wordplay and imagery for lyric ideas over the summer holidays but I’ve been struggling with composing melodies and chord structures. ahdn_george_05However, I am determined not to give up and find my way in this area slowly but surely. a-hard-days-night-john-6

Having been off work since last Thursday due to ill-health, I have another two weeks now officially approved by my ever-friendly GPs (the last number of days being self-certified). Won’t be back until the second day of October at the earliest.

My date update.

I sent her a text on Sunday afternoon asking if she wanted to meet on Friday or the weekend. She didn’t reply until this morning. During that time I was dejected and basically gave up, accepting she’s not interested. Her text this morning said ‘Sorry, I’m working most of the weekend’. I’m not sure what to make of it. Playing hard to get? She could’ve very easily not replied at all, but she did. I’ll ponder this and decide what I’ll reply with and when. Maybe wait until Friday afternoon if I do reply.

You should get straight in there, @Timothy, and ask when works for her if she’d like to meet up again. Then you’ll know one way or the other.

Not a good idea to get caught up in games.

Probably best to ignore me……Really!

But in a lifetime of pandering to the capricious whims of women and having started off my wooing ways badly by basically being whatever I thought they wanted me to be….

…I’ve decided after long experience that ……

….women and sleep are like cats…..they only come to you if you ignore them…….

I’m completely naive, so in your shoes I would have assumed that she genuinely was very busy and that’s why she wasn’t able to reply sooner, but still interested, that’s why she bothered to reply at all. But hey, what do I (an aromantic) know about dating? mccartney-shrug_01_gif
