Thank you guys. It’s such a relief to hear that I’m not the only one who had trouble establishing to the whole University life in the first year. I can’t wait until I can finally be active on the forum again!

Just did an entire exam paper in French- took 2 hours phew but I got 115/20 in comprehensions and 78/80 in listening woohoo! My teacher has to correct the written but I think it’s good enough.
I also bought Mot á Mot and Wort fuer Wort on amazon as some of my English friends recommended it to me. Now I have to write up my damn geography project- woof!
I can’t wait for this year to be over- never to look at stupid geography ever again!

Can you sleep on the bus?
Not unless I wanted a moustache (at best, stress that word and let your imagination wander about what else could be done) drawn on my face. I eventually ended resting on my short friend’s head

We’re going investigating this exciting topic for 6 hours straight and I’m worried that I didn’t pack enough food with me to last until around 7:30pm (will a half a roll, an apple, an apple turnover and a packet of crisps be enough??? Who knows….)
What are you bringing for hours 2 through 6?
I was actually alright, didn’t eat anything for the rest of the day after about 5pm.
I ate a lot today though so it probably balances out.

Anyone else think that people in real life looks 110 times more attractive in real than in pictures.I’m not talking about myself but there are some people in school who look amazing in real life but in pics they are Meh.Isn’t the case opposite mostly?
I look gorgeous in all photos (nah I look like a potato on a bad day).
Semi-interesting fact: I haven’t changed my FB photo in 4 years i.e. my profile photo is of me as a 12 year old. You can’t even see me that well in it (all the better I say!)

@ScrambledEggs Good to hear you’re getting ever closer to having internet access again.
I wouldn’t worry too much about feeling a bit out of your depth on some courses. It’s what happens when you step up a level. It will all click into place, and it won’t be too long before, one after the other, they start falling into place, and you start wondering what you were worried about. Anyone who’s been through it knows the feeling. You’re staring at books that look like gobbledygook, and doubting your choices, and then something clicks and it all starts making sense again. If it didn’t feel like a step up, you wouldn’t be learning! Good to hear about German giving you more space though. I had the same thing with psychology, a teacher telling me I didn’t need bothering to turn up if I didn’t want to. Gave me more time to work on the things I did have to work on.
Hope all is going well with roommate and apartment, and that you’re starting to find your feet and make new friends.
@AppleScruffJunior Good to hear your French went well, now get on with your geography, young lady. How else will you find your way around or know where you are?

It was an eternity without internet for a month, but I made it. Suffered some Beatles Bible withdrawal. I could not go to the library because it was blocked, and the computers that were not blocked were for 18 years and up. So I am more than excited to be back.

Wow! 2 Beatles in 9 days!
I got t-shirts for both tours. I love them both. Sorry I can’t help you pick between the two. Maybe someone can come in and be more objective.

@Thom Mc, the Ringo ‘peace and love tour’ shirt I got this year is better quality and larger than the Paul one I got last year (it was a typical thin cotton concert tee, while Ringo’s was much thicker material and properly sized…and if i remember right, $5 cheaper – and I like it better). Too bad (well really it’s a good thing) I’ve lost 50 lbs. this year so the Ringo shirt is now a tent on me and the Paul shirt is still too small :/

I’d just like to drop in with the reason I’ve been away for a week or so. I got a bad cookie, and the site wouldn’t let me log in. Eventually it told me why, I cleaned my cookies, and voila! kudos to @Joe and the developers for writing code to catch that kind of stuff!
I kept the faith while I was away – I’m listening to the canon from Please Please Me to Let it Be (my weekend project). And I dreamed of the day I’ll be able to get George’s Dark Horse and Apple Days sets
It’s good to be back

@Matt Busby, glad we didn’t have to add your name to the “whatever happened to…” thread
I’m sitting in the grass under a tree in the front yard. A bird flew down and landed on a post about 6 feet away from me. It has been there for about 20 minutes. I’ve been talking to him some.

Maybe he’ll talk back some day. I’m glad I’m not the only one talking to animals. However I have to admit that with birds it’s more often than not things in the vein of ”please, don’t poop on me”
Had a party at a friend’s new place. He moved out of his dorm and has a whole appartment for himself now so that was cool. And although I’m sure I wasn’t really drunk I still woke up with a hangover. Ugh. Oh this is funny, I went by train and would then take the bus. So it was about 8 pm and I was waiting at the busstop, some students who had been back to their parents (I assume, they had huge bags on them) were standing next to me. The bus would come in 6 minutes. 8.06 pm, no bus. 8.10 pm, no bus. The students had left already and now I realized I had to walk, because the bus sure as hell wasn’t coming. Well, it was very dark and it was a long road with nothing next to it, just big office buildings that were closed, obviously, so that was pretty scary. I just kept walking and Google maps told me to take a right turn at the roundabout. I looked in front of me, and as you can guess, there was no roundabout. It was a crossing. Well, very great. To make things worse, the whole road was open, because it was under construction. I had absolutely no idea where to go. I just crossed it, walked through a bunch of sand and through fences and then saw some appartments. I looked in which street I was and saw it was the name of a planet (his district has streets with the names of planets) so I knew I was near. I just kept walking randomly and sure enough there it was. First thing I said was that I sure as hell wasn’t going to walk back to the train alone at 0.30 am. So the whole group walked me back to the station. Good party though.
Oh, my sister has found herself a room in a dorm too, so she’ll be moving out soon. I’m sure that’ll make things a lot easier.

The bird started cooing at me (or more than likely at another bird I heard in the distance) and flew away. While it lasted, it was interesting to see him twist his head when I talked to him.
Linde, glad you made it to the party safely and that the partiers walked you back to the station. Hopefully all goes well with your sister. Maybe she will do some growing up in the next few months.

Took me about 4 years, an unexpected trip to Europe and a few changes of course to settle into what I actually wanted to do.
