Offline Just found out I’ve been kicked out of my math class and stuck in a new one. I was really looking forward to having this class because the teacher is completely amazing, but that’s not happening now.
It seems like a trivial matter but I’m really upset. 🙁

What did you see when you were there?
Currently in Washington D.C, checking out all the (gloriously free) museums and seeing all the amazing buildings like the White House, Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial etc. I’d been led to believe that they were underwhelming in terms of size, but I was very impressed by all the architecture I saw today. Also got to go in the Watergate hotel and go in the room from which the perpetrators ran their operation, which was fascinating.
After we leave DC, we’re onto NYC, so I’ll send updates on that when we get there.

Offline Feck! Feck! Feck!
I think my laptop just died.
The screen went funny as I was posting, so I had to crash it by unplugging and removing the battery. When I tried to restart, all I got was a flashing green light on the Caps Lock key.
Not looking good. I’ll give it a few hours rest but not looking good, and the phone is playing up with charging at the moment, so I probably won’t be around much for a while.

Offline Well, I’m having to declare the laptop officially dead, the screen just isn’t responding.
Looking at a couple of possible replacements but it’s likely to take me a few weeks to put the money together for either.
So, I’m gonna be struggling with the phone for a bit.
Likely that means less of me for a while as the phone is such a pain to post with.
And then, once I’ve got a new laptop, another few weeks of saving to get the contents of the hard drive on the laptop that no longer has a working screen extracted.

Offline Not that I know of, @Ahhh Girl, and even if I could, that would mean not having a TV while on the computer, and I’m on the computer a lot. Just gonna have get £300 over the next few weeks – which will be made easier by not spending at least £50 a week on internet top-ups.
Plus, at the moment, I’m assuming it’s the screen that’s died, so even if a very long lead (my TV is other side of the room, so would probably need a four or five metre lead) would do it, I can’t be sure the laptop will work.
This laptop has lasted some years, so time for a new one.
Have already looked. Saw one for £249.99 and that tempted, but many reviews complained it was very slow, so it looks like another HP at £299.99. 1TB of storage opposed to my current 2GB storage, which will be good
Just a bit of saving-up to do.

Offline Afraid not for me. Clumsy fingers. I’ve been using a keyboard (typewriter or computer) for around 40 years, and have never got beyond being a one-finger typist. A small on-screen keyboard is my idea and reality (at the moment) of hell.

Offline I’m reasonable speed-wise on a proper keyboard, despite being one-fingered, but a small touchscreen I just find almost impossible. Some of my longer posts in the last 24 hours have taken 40-50 minutes, when with a proper keyboard, five or ten minutes at most.
I’m a good one-finger typist, just not with a small touchscreen keyboard.
