Anyone else think that people in real life looks 110 times more attractive in real than in pictures.I’m not talking about myself but there are some people in school who look amazing in real life but in pics they are Meh.
Isn’t the case opposite mostly?

I am getting ready for my geography trip to some beaches where I shall be studying the ever-exciting ‘coastal erosion’ (yawn). I have to get up at 6:50am to go on a bus for 2 and a 1/2hrs to go to some stupid beaches
We’re going investigating this exciting topic for 6 hours straight and I’m worried that I didn’t pack enough food with me to last until around 7:30pm (will a half a roll, an apple, an apple turnover and a packet of crisps be enough??? Who knows….)
I’m so excited to go to sleep at 10:30pm tonight…yay!

What are you bringing for hours 2 through 6?

I kind of agree with @Hey Jude !, you know; mostly because in person people can impress you with their culture, their manners, how nice they are, some times their charisma (but then again they can be rather disagreeable when you meet them personally and therefore look better in a photo).

I agree with Oudis, but if we’re saying purely looks, it could be either way. A lot of people really aren’t photogenic (myself included), and others look a lot better in pictures.

Oh yes of course! I was talking in terms of looks only.

Yeah, I’m not photogenic either. Pictures often make my lazy eye really clear and it looks a bit weird. And I just look weird in general on pictures. I also don’t like having my picture taken, I change my profile pic on FB only once a year or so.
Had a fun day at my internship today, finally met the kids. When they were picked up by their parents, this one girl came to me, hugged me, said I was her favourite teacher already and that she wanted to be like me when she’d grow up and asked me if I’d be there every week from now on. If a child says something like that to you and that doesn’t make you melt, I don’t know what does. Works great for your self esteem as well.

Hey, congratulations! That must have been really rewarding!

The good news is that I will finally have internet in a week or two! Yey!
As of the 15th of September I have started attending University. Let me just say that these last few days have felt like years and years of studying. Goodness. Do you guys know all the jokes about engineering students on the internet? Let me just tell you, it’s all real. It’s so difficult, I don’t even know where my head is anymore! And it’s only been two weeks, for God ‘s sake!
I’ve got 5 different subjects: Maths – which I can easily keep up with, Physics – which is a bit too difficult for me, Electrical-technical engineering – which feels to me like some sort of science fiction, Programming – which is very logical and I’ve been able to keep up with easily, and German – which turned out great, because on the first class with the Professor I managed to somehow impress her and she told me I don’t have to attend any of the classes because I know everything I’d be learning there, so now I have 4 more hours a week to study Physics! … :'(
I shall try to keep up and do my best.

Woo-hoo for being studious with your German in the past years. It has paid off. Good luck with your other subjects.

I didn’t attend school today but I saw a teacher on the roadMy first thought was “haha you can’t give me any orders”
Second thought ” Why don’t we do it in the road”
(I swear, i wasn’t thinking anything dirty, the song title just came to my mind)
Hahahah, I know how it feels when the random things remind you of Beatles’ songs. Like with me when someone would say a word that happens to be the first word of a Beatle lyric, my mind would automatically start humming the tune.

@ScrambledEggs I know how you feel, my brother started studying a similar study this year and he has a few classes which he enjoys and a few which he really can’t keep up with, like Maths. He’s been struggling with Maths for years and I don’t know why he even picked a study like this, but he’s trying his best and he really likes it so far. I don’t know how it is there, but here, in your first year, it’s a big step from secondary school. It’s such a difference and so many things come up, you really need to find a way to deal with everything. Once you get the hang of it, both the system and the subjects, it’ll be a lot more enjoyable.
Go for it, the best of luck!

Good luck @ScrambledEggs with it all. The first couple of weeks of my college time were filled with thoughts of “are you friggin’ kiddin’ me? And when do you expect me to do all this amongst the breathing, the trips to the bathroom, eating and sleeping?”. But you get into a routine and it somehow works out and life goes on and i have no doubt you’ll cope admirably with it all.
And here’s to you getting the net up and running. Would be great to see you here a little bit more often – when studies and life allow of course.
