Ooh, blueberries! The woods near my house are full of blueberry bushes, I’ll have to make an excursion out there soon.

I disagree. Blueberry bushes are superior because a) Blueberries are God ‘s fruit and b) blackberries have thorns.

My teacher from ages 8-11 in primary school who I absolutely adored (I went back with some of my friends to visit her 2 years ago, and to tell her that she’s the best teacher we ever had, absolute legend of a woman) told us a story about when she went blackberry picking as a little girl and it has stayed with me ever since.
Her mother told her to get blackberries for a jam that she would be making later that day, so my teacher was given plastic bags and went skipping down the road to collect the blackberries. She put the blackberries in the bag and skipped the way home. Upon arriving home, she looked inside the bag and found that her skipping had made a load of maggots fall out of the blackberries and they were wiggling all around the bottom of the bag.
Yum.
In saying that, I still eat blackberries, they’re so delicious.
Bringing blackberries back to school, here’s a poem I had to study for my Junior Cert exam when I was 15 by one of Ireland’s most celebrated poets Seamus Heaney.

PSA: The only way to read the above poem is in an Irish accent.

^ Ahhh excellent, I think my mental Irish accent sounded something like that. (I could hear it but I probably couldn’t talk it )

a) nein, blackberries are far superior
b) all part of the fun
Although to be fair the blackberries are invasive…
re ASJ’s poem, I think I’ve actually read that before but I’m not sure where… good poem, even if it is rather depressing.

^ Well if 3 weeks later, the blackberries were still fresh…I think you’d be worried.
I once left two slices of bread in my bread box, I came back to it a month later and there was no mould on it or anything…..what the hell am I eating?!?

^Very good point. It’s kind of like when you get fruit and it’s wormy — you know it’s a good, ripe piece of fruit apart from the worms. I’m suspect of anything that has a very long shelf life unless it’s something like a really dry cereal.

Just got my ticket for the school prom, which is on June 18th–big day then!
(Some friends told me that the process is gonna be boring, but anyway I decide to be there)

Ahhh, I keep forgetting that my prom is in a couple of weeks and I don’t have a suit or anything for it. Panic stations!! The original plan for me and a couple others was to drag up for it, but that’s just so hard to organise at such a late point.

I saw Rocketman two weeks ago (although German dub not the original audio). I have to go because I’m a part of the Richard Madden fan club (this is a true thing, we have t-shirts) and we always have to go and support Richard in any cinematic thing he’s in (we’ve been to all of his cinema releases and theatre live screenings since 2015 and we collectively watch any television thing he’s in, one might describe it as a religion…or a cult, all hail Madden!). Unfortunately, due to my being shipped overseas for the pursuit of education we have been separated for the first time ever in our pursuit of Richard Madden consumption. Luckily, we found an Irish and German screening that roughly coincided with each other and we discussed it afterwards.
Rocketman was ok, it was enjoyable, I thought it went too over the top in some aspects particularly that first choreographed dance when he’s going between the teen age and adulthood. It was too sickly sweet for my emotions. Richard Madden was of course great, as always.

I’ve heard that the problem with Rocketman is that the build ups to the set piece musical scenes of concerts and the like are kind of let down by the songs themselves which are, let’s be honest, usually fairly bland. Elton certainly has his classics, but even his best ones don’t suit that well to that kind of context. I had my problems with Bohemian Rhapsody, but at least Queen’s music sounds amazing in a stadium setting.
But then, I haven’t even seen it yet, so what do I know

There is a direct Beatles reference in it (it’s factually incorrect but who cares? This isn’t an Elton John forum!).

But the film admits it’s not factually correct by stating it’s a fantasy based on true events…
