Apparently, someone just ran a stolen car into the creek behind our house. It caught on fire, and there was a ton of smoke and sirens and people yelling. Luckily, it doesn’t seem that anyone was hurt, but no one is sure. It freaked everyone out quite a bit, though.
More excitement than needed.
Poor person who lost their car due to a thief.
Sounds like an incident Farmers Insurance would make a commercial out of. “We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two.:

Well, there are some pretty cool and difficult songs there to play… i was wondering then why did you choose to play Love Me Do and I should have known better which are pretty simple and boring instead of any other of their wilder repertoire… and since you are a big fan of Hey Bulldog that would add a lot of rocky attitude to the set

I don’t know obviously, but I imagine the harmonica transition between them was probably really cool. Those songs do go together really well.

I’ve been listening to Hip To Be Square. While I acknowledge the singer has changed his stance on the intent somewhat, this is what I nonetheless get out of the song: it IS hip to be square. If you’re saving your money, exercising and all these kinds of things, you are ahead of most people who don’t. Success isn’t bad, it’s amazing. It just requires discipline.

He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I do not envy you. I was in this position a little more than two weeks ago. I’m not trying to rub it in or anything, but it is awesome to be finished.

Due to lineup constraints we can’t do a lot of songs, and also because we’ve had those in our set forever (since we were a lot more mediocre than we are now and so the simplicity of those songs appealed to us) and because HARMONICA (we have a harmonica player and not a second guitarist or keyboardist although our bassist plays keys sometimes and I take over the bass, as on ‘Piano Man’ and ‘Changes’). And also because…

and they’re not that boring, they’re actually quite fun to play. I would love to try Hey Bulldog but I don’t know how we’d arrange it, it needs that piano and that bass and that guitar so bad.
~ANYWAY~
The show went great! No major mishaps occurred, although minor mistakes were made (as these things do happen), we managed to come off pretty well all things considered. The audience seemed to have a good time (although I couldn’t really see them thanks to the lights stars in my eyes/that space-cadet glow/I was singing to an ocean, I got that impression based on what they told me), and WE certainly had a great time! (Note: Whenever you see a concert, just know that the musicians are having the most fun out of everyone in the room.) I think my personal favourites were probably both the set closers and ‘The Jean Genie’, which are all very very fun to play (for me at least, the drummer might have a different opinion about ‘Knights Of Cydonia’ ).
I was wired up on nervous energy for like five hours afterward, so I didn’t fall asleep till 2 AM and then yesterday me dad & sis & I went Over The Hills And (slightly) Far Away and it was bEaUtIfUl but the pollen did not agree with my sleep-deprived immune system so I’m still a little sleep-hungover.

Being in a band is the best thing ever, there’s nothing like the synchronicity with other musicians. I’m so blessed to have the friends I do.

Agree.
In my life… I have my 130548th test this afternoon, which wouldn’t be too bad except I developed a really bad stomach ache last night around 9PM so all up I think I got about 4 hours of sleep last night… Less than half what I normally get.
And it’s an English test, one that no one in the class is feeling confident for.
What’s the worst that can happen?

I’m out of school!!! (At least until August). Finally, I am grateful for the fact that my school has the shortest spring and winter breaks you will ever find (three days off for spring, a week for winter) and starts at the beginning of August.

Tomorrow is the college entrance exam day. What can I do with the half a day left? Just go through the books again, though I’m not sure if that helps. Anything Beatley to do? I’m doing a Beatles album marathon when reading, and I plan to wear a Beatles shirt tomorrow (yeah, I finally got one). Hope that slightly comforts me.
