They had all american strats of any solid color finish you could imagine. I played white, black, pine, rosewood, as well as with the teles. I spent a while in the acoustic section and spent most of the time playing Gibson hollowbodies in the $10k+ price range.

On thursday afternoons my whole year group typically has a lecture from a guest speaker, but today whoever it was had to cancel last minute so my head of year stepped in… and spent an hour telling us in great detail about all his favourite films. It was hilarious and surreal to be instructed in no uncertain terms by a teacher/authority figure to go away and spend time watching films such as Goodfellas, Fistful of Dollars etc

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I have a group project for History that involves writing and filming a newscast, and of course the rest of my group has left it up to me to write and plan the entire thing. Because it’s not like I have writer’s block or homework for other classes or anything like that. I exist only to serve them.

Ah, group work… you should write 1/5 (if it’s a group of 5) of a script, and say ‘oh sorry I just wrote an equal part of a script… whoops!’

Do what Holey said, do your bit, then tell your teacher (privately would be best), that you have your bit done and the rest of your team didn’t want to collaborate and help.

I’ve done about 5 group projects over my 2 years in college, and every single time, I’ve told my lecturer to give me 80% of the credit and 5% to the rest. They get s**t results and I get the results I deserve.

Ah yes but then I would get 1/5 of a grade and that would be no good

(How’d you know it was a group of 5, are you psychic?!? a-hard-days-night-ringo-6)

I managed to get one of them to agree to help me, but so far he has done nothing. Grrr.

If you have to do the full thing then do it, but tell the teacher if a person/people didn’t cooperate- so they’re not freeloaders. They don’t deserve the grade, that you worked hard at to get.

While trying to update my MacBook, my computer crashed, so I took it into the apple store and they said the motherboard was fried, and I would have to pay up the ass to replace it. Nope. F**k Apple. I just got a Windows laptop instead. Just my luck, when I go to restore my music library, The Beatles are missing completely from the hard drive. How is that even possible?! Everything else is there. The Beatles? Empty. Now I have to restart my Beatles collection and try to recover everything I used to own. Oh well. Time for another hardcore Beatles phase I guess. It has been a while…

It is extremely bizzare that the Beatles were missing, as I remember backing them up several times to update the organizational work I had done to my library. It was about 25 GB of music roughly 10,000 tracks. I had been cutting down duplicates and organizing, but I must have made a mistake somewhere and removed the backup. Fortunately the other 175 GB was backed up. Losing the Dylan, Dead, Panic, Floyd, and hundred other artists would have really taken the life out of me.

@Beatlebug I too was reminded of the fire. First everything goes away out of nowhere in the physical world, and then in the virtual world a few months later. Good life lessons I guess.
