I wrote a song today while sitting in AP World History about that girl I mentioned earlier. I still haven’t heard from her and I had a dream about her last night and the Beatles were in it also. Will post about it in Dreams thread. I think this is my 100th post also. Thank you all for providing me someone to talk about the Beatles with and for being great people in general.

I’m an hour away from leaving this job for the last time!!! And only another 10 days away from starting the next adventure in my life…excited!!
I would have “checked out” days ago. Glad to hear you have 10 days to set up housekeeping in your new digs. Very cool, DrB.
I certainly checked out mentally days ago! I asked what work I could do until the end and they all said don’t worry about it, so I literally spent my last 2 weeks surfing the internet and writing for my blog at work…and getting paid for it! Not too bad although it got interminably boring by today!

I just finished my first week at a new school My new high school is huge and I got lost half a dozen times. All in all it was okay- made a few friends and got a compliment on my hair which is all I could really hope for. Now I’m celebrating the weekend by listening to Fats Domino and drinking a glass of wine while trying to catch up on all the forum news.

Congrats on making it to Abbey Road @UnidentifiedFiendishThingy . You are welcome for the Beatley conversation and you are correct – we do have a lot of great people here. I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I’m glad we passed your audition.
Now…on to the virtual housewarming gifts for Mssrs. @DrBeatle and @Mr. Kite .
DrB, you are a PhD organic chemist with a focus in materials chemistry. Screw the focus in materials chemistry – let’s focus on organic. My gift to you is a recipe for Organic Pineapple Yellow Submarine Ice Cubes including all the ingredients, Yellow Submarine shaped ice cube tray, blender, a bottle of Ketel One and a boring guy who can tell you how to mix the ingredients.
Kite, you lived in New England, Florida and now New England again (so you say). While your knowledge of the East Coast must by now be extensive, you can never be to careful while travelling by land or by sea. Therefore, I bestow upon you an antique nautical compass of the Beatley kind.
Welcome home boys!

@Zig I may be private but I’m no liar! Those two items really make me wonder what they don’t make with The Beatles stuck on it.
@UnidentifiedFiendishThingy Congrats on 100! Have enjoyed your company so far, and hope you stay for hundreds more!
Hope that girl answers you soon.

@Joe, I know this won’t help change the minds of the Cardiffians whose lives were disrupted by the NATO nightmare, but I thought you might like to see this.
The website http://www.visitwales.com/ has this quote prominently displayed

My high school is pretty small, but I still got lost a couple times in my first week.
“Okay” is a pretty good description of my first year in high school so far – much to my surprise, I’ve also made a few friends.

@Mimi, good luck at the new (big) school. A compliment is great! I’m not sure what year or age you are, but I went to 3 high schools in 3 years – the first two were quite large (1200 students) and the third was a small boarding school. It’s weird going to a new school – even the 2nd one I knew a few people, but it’s still just…unfamiliar…many people get scared but it doesn’t sound like you are Be yourself and the people who are meant to be your friends will be so…
We Americans are such prudes…I can’t imagine relaxing enjoying a glass of wine after high school…maybe hiding in the basement taking a quick swig from a bottle I swiped from dad and hiding it lol.
Anyway, I’m sure you’ll fit in fine You have good taste in music, which I’ve found is an indicator of good taste in general

Actually, our @Mimi is a teenager here in the USA. So, either her parents are teaching her to drink responsibly or she is sneaking the booze behind their backs.

My parents are fine with me drinking, although I’m not a big drinker because I never get that alcohol buzz, I just get really sleepy. The most I ever have in one sitting is a shot of whiskey or something.

So far school has been alright for me.
I’ve made some new friends and dumped (okay, well not dump, just not hanging out anymore) old friends. We weren’t getting along anymore.
My class is alright, except for this one really creepy stalker guy. He seriously has some mental problems. Just today I threw him on the floor with a judo move because he was making me really angry. I am really fed up with him. He has said some things to me (and to other girls) that would probably get him suspended if the teachers knew about it. I can’t stand him.
Edit: I just realised this is my 400th post. Yay!
