I am officially not happy.
I receive two separate benefits, ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) and PIP (Personal Independence Payment), because of my ill health. The five year award of my PIP has ended meaning it’s going through a new claim process and I don’t get it while that’s happening, but will get the back-pay as soon as it’s back in place. Still got my ESA to live on while the PIP is renewed. And the PIP is in process, attended the medical out at West Malling yesterday (on the site of the former airfield where Magical Mystery Tour was filmed).
I was due my ESA today, went down to get out some money, and it hasn’t been paid into my account. Too late to do anything now until after the weekend and so, unless it’s just going into the account late because of a glitch their end (I will check account again tomorrow), seems I’m in for a lousy weekend.

I’m about to get on my flight home after finishing a brutal week of 3 essays and 2 finals. I’ll get back to Atlanta from Washington by 8 pm tonight, and then i’ll be up in North Carolina where i’ll be working the whole summer as a Mountain Biking counselor for my old summer camp. Quite a week!
I’m excited to go back, but that means i’ll pretty much be off the grid for the entirety of the summer. @Ron Nasty will cover WSC’s weekly emails for me, will @Ahhh Girl helping him out as a backup. I love you all and will see you in 3 months, with periodical check-ins throughout the summer.

Have a fantastic summer @sir walter raleigh 🙂
@Ron Nasty is it possible that it is delayed because of the bank holiday at the start of the week. I know some payments I receive from my online shop have been delayed by a day each time this week and it’s because of the bank holiday. Fingers crossed it all gets sorted out for you soon!

I have made a great discovery
On the wooded hill just up the road from my house, where I spent most of my childhood, there is miles and miles of forest, most of which I explored when I was younger. Today I was feeling a little down so I decided to go up there again to take my mind off things and I discovered a lovely little clearing I’d never found before with a tree perfect for sitting against. I sat there for about two hours and listened through a few albums, including Nico’s Chelsea Girl and it was just a lovely way to spend a saturday afternoon.

How lovely @QuarryMan.
I’ve been practising songs on my guitar. The bass on Bowie’s ‘Changes’ is really fun to play if you don’t have to sing at the same time

Was on the phone to the DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) first thing this morning. They screwed up. They were meant to suspend the part of my ESA that I get because I receive PIP until the new PIP award is confirmed (which I expected), but it seems they somehow suspended the whole thing, and cancelled my housing benefit in the process as well!
They’ve promised my money will go into my account by 5 this afternoon, and will get onto housing benefit to reinstate that.
The joys of having to deal the screw-ups of the DWP! Luckily they’ve recognised the total suspension was an error, and it’s not turned into a long drawn-out struggle.

Hopefully they realise that because it was an error, they should prioritise fixing it for you.

My GCSEs officially start tomorrow. Strangely enough, I’m more excited than petrified ATM, but I don’t think I should let so much overconfidence build up, only for it to all shatter at a first question. Because of revision and earlier sleeping times I’m setting myself, I’m hoping I can pop in here at least once a day for a short while in my breaks. If I’m not on here as often in the next month, this is probably why. I also promise to finish and upload the comic strip to my thread once this is all out of the way!

All the little year 11s at my school had their first exam today I felt very smug being able to sit on the school field watching them do their last minute revision.
Anyways, good luck! They will all go fine, I did mine last year and as long as you’ve revised all will be well
