I love the rain and a stormy atmosphere.
Me too
I went to actually talk to my professor today (it’s an online class so I haven’t actually met her till now) about a thing that I forgot to do, and could I at least get partial credit for it, please?
IT
WAS
SO
SCARY
OMG
but it actually wasn’t that bad. My prof was actually pretty nice.
Seriously, I need to get out of the house more

Sorry to hear that @Ahhh Girl
I just got home from a splendid reading of Shakespeare’s sonnets (half of them, anyway — they did the first 70something yesterday). I was feeling good about myself, and then a lady brought a guitar in too and I went, Oh crap, there goes my thunder
but nonetheless, my melodified sonnet came off pretty well.
And then, because I mentioned that it had been inspired by David Gilmour, I got into a conversation with someone about Pink Floyd. Win-win

Home at 10 here. The roads seem so quiet after the chaos that is Brisbane traffic nowadays .

The importance of wacky David Bowie albums to completing last-minute should-have-been-done-weeks-ago History assignments cannot be understated

Hi all!
Long time no see. Life gets in the way…
The 22nd was my birthday. It was a relatively boring one as I actually didn’t invite anyone over, my brother sat in his room upstairs all day and my sister didn’t bother showing up at all. On top of that, my dog was very sick. She couldn’t keep food inside, had trouble walking and standing and didn’t really look at people. I had a rather bad feeling about it. She had been sick quite a lot over the past months, but this time I could tell it was different..After a couple of visits to the vet it appeared she had gas bubbles in her stomach which could explode, so they had to operate on her. The operation was succesful, but while operating the vet had seen she also had a tumor in het liver and that some of her organs were failing. My parents were put in front of 2 options: Either put her to sleep and let her out of this misery, or take her home where she would die that day or the day after. They decided to put her to sleep. I was absolutely devastated! I grew up with that dog. We got her when I was just a month shy of turning 10 and she lived until after my 24th birthday, so that’s a long time! I used to think people who are over emotional about their pets were kind of strange, but now I am one of them. Everytime you hear a ticking or scratching noise, you think it’s her. It’s especially hard for my mother, because she was alone with her most of the time.
What else…a lot of work and internship stuff. Been applying for jobs, but civics is quite a small subject and there aren’t a lot of jobs in that field. I’ve also looked for jobs at SEN schools. I think it’s a shame I can’t stay where I’m at now, but I understand. Two teachers is enough. I’ve also applied for a couple of call centers, because that seems like a fun job I could do for however long it takes. I don’t really care about earning money, as long as it’s enough and as long as I like the job. My sanity is much more important.
The 27th was Kingsday, which is always fun. In the evening one of my friend groups had decided to get together so they picked me up and we drove there. I did notice they carried a lot of bags with them, and felt a bit ashamed for not bringing any snacks or drinks. When we got there there was a 60s music playlist playing. Not a single bell was ringing. Then one of my friends went ”I really feel like singing, care to join me?”. I thought she meant karaoke, turned to the tv, saw Sonny & Cher was on and remember thinking ”Well, this is an odd choice, but whatever floats your boat” and then they burst out singing ”Happy birthday”. They had organized a surprise party for me! Complete with pie, presents, snacks and drinks, and even my kind of music (or at least music they thought was my kind of music). I had a blast and thought it was really sweet. I’m grateful for such great friends.

I’m sorry to hear about your dog @Linde
that’s very sad. One of my dogs recently got into some rat poison while I was away at school. Fortunately my parents caught it, took her to the vet for an operation, and she was saved. Luckily my mom called with good news. Apparently she was hours away from death. I don’t know what I would have done had she died while I was away. Peace and love.

I saw the otolaryngologist today. I will, in fact, be getting part of my thyroid removed. The chances of it being cancer have been upgraded to ninety percent.
Surgery is tomorrow.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

NeckoI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
