Had to go out and slipped on the snow on the walk up to the Post Office as the pavement wasn’t cleared. Luckily, not too much damage, elbow and derrière rather sore, and will probably bruise lovely. The snow was starting to come down again as I hobbled back home. Hopefully I shouldn’t need to venture out tomorrow.
Here’s the Beast from the East rolling in over London yesterday:

School cancelled for the second day in a row. One of my favourite bands is announcing a UK tour today, I’m really hoping to grab tickets.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

In the midst of the snow, they still managed to open my school yesterday, today and most likely tomorrow!

That is very unfortunate, we’ve just had the email saying we’re closed again tomorrow! It’s odd because our headmaster isn’t usually one to give in to a little weather..

I’ve been listening to a lot of Queen, as well as some Beatles. I’ve also been talking to THGF and SWR and have been getting more exercise.

Stupid things that Necko did that you should never do #8:
A couple days ago, I had an appointment with my mechanic. Nothing major: I was just going to get my front tires replaced. I was running a few minutes late for my appointment. I drove as fast as I possibly could within responsible bounds. I got to the place, but nearly every space was filled. I could find only one empty space in the entire lot. It’s kind of a small lot, so any turn you make is a tight one. The only space available was one that I could not possibly get into by turning once. I pulled back and forth a few times. On the last time, I moved back slightly more.
*bump*
I saw my mechanic staring at me from the front door. I had thought that I had only hit the curb, but apparently not. I parked the car, not caring how straight it was parked at this point. I ran to the building and opened the door.
“Did you have a little accident?” my mechanic asked.
The only way I would have been more embarrassed after that question is if I had urine streaming down my leg.
“Did I?” I said, looking outside the door, playing dumb.
“Silver Buick?” he said.
We went outside to look at the damage. Thankfully, it was only a little scuff with some yellow paint from my bumper sticker. I felt so bad about damaging the car and giving my mechanic more work. He was able to buff it out. That could have turned out a lot worse.

Ugh, I know that feeling. About a month ago or so, we got roughly 30cm more snow, on top of what we already had (roughly the same amount). Snow day? Nope. Only private schools were closed, because apparently the safety of public school kids is unimportant.
Speaking of snow, we currently have a mountain of it on our front lawn that I estimate to be somewhere around 6’4″ tall.

Landlord is doing some work on my flat this week which requires me not being there. They were going to be putting me in a flat for the week, but it’s not ready. So, putting me in a Travelodge for a couple of nights, until it becomes ready. Lovely lady from the Housing Association tried paying using the company card. Company card wouldn’t work so used her own card and will claim back. Can’t book in until three though, so currently camped out in an old people’s home run by the same housing association until I can walk down the road and book in.

I hope your temporary abodes are comfortable, RN.
You seem to be a hardy soul, Timothy. I think you’ll be just fine at your work.
I woke up at midnight with a violent stomach ache. I couldn’t get still for 7.5 hours…the pain! It is 9 now. I think I am out of the woods as far as having to go get checked out, but I texted my boss and co-workers and told them I’d be staying home today. I know a mighty crash is coming.
On a happier note, Ohhh Boy and I bought a new sofa yesterday. It will be delivered tomorrow. Our current sofa is about 34 or 35 years old. It still looks ok, but the inner supports are shot.

I’ve been enjoying my holiday free from all work issues due two weeks. Currently sipping a pint of lager watching the football where a dreadful Man U are losing to Crystal Palace.
Exciting times, exciting read .

Due to a variety of factors but mostly my own ineptitude at managing my time and myself, I failed to finish my Psychology research paper in time to submit it by the deadline. My prof doesn’t accept late papers; I’ve sent an apologetic email but I amn’t that optimistic. I hadn’t very high hopes for a good Psych grade anyway so…
It’s time for bed folks
P. S. You may be wondering (as me mum suggested) why I don’t want to drop the class. Well, for one thing, I’m a stubborn arse and hate giving up even when it would be the sensible thing to do, but the main reason is that I really enjoy learning about Psychology and don’t want to stop. I just amn’t very good at getting the best grades in it…

Today I had my first maths and English language mocks. For the creative writing section on the latter, I wrote a story about somebody trying to be happy in a world of miserable and lonely people (I was tempted to make a nod to Eleanor Rigby , but I didn’t. I kinda regret that now ). However, carrying on my recent Monkees obsession, I of course had to name one of the characters in the story Davy.
