That’s wonderful, sirwalterraleigh! All the best for the two of you! A couple in my class actually found each other because they were both listening to their favourite music in turns (so he would play one of his favourite albums to her, they’d talk about it and then the other way round).
In my life, I’ve got only one exam left in school and then I’m exam-free! Well, until the beginning of February. And I agree with Peppdog, I definitely have to study more, as well.
Oh, and we’ve also got new neighbours and their dog looks just like Sachertorte!

Hope you get to know the new neighbors and the dog, Martha. Maybe you could dog-sit sometime.
I was walking Sacher Torte around outside while waiting wait for my mother-in-law to finish her doctor’s appointment. I saw a couple with a puppy, and we walked over to greet them. The puppy is 7 weeks old and looks like Sacher did at that age.

I hope that …
..for you!
Yesterday , the high e string on my electric guitar ripped apart right in the middle while I was doing a bend (it was only a one full step bend, nothing freaky). I tried and failed to put on a new e string for one and a half hours so I went to the shop and asked one of the staff whether they could help me. They were very kind but it was a bit embarrassing nevertheless since they did it in 30 seconds!! When I rode my bike home, I nearly had an accident with a bus because one doesn’t have too much control over one’s bike when carrying two saxophones and a guitar. Oh well, at least, that way, I’ve had a six string guitar again today and could play And Your Bird Can Sing over and over until everyone in the house knew the song by heart.

That reminds me of the time when I was playing Tie Your Mother Down and while I was bending my high e string at the very end of the song (the 2nd to last note to be precise) it snapped. 2 tricks I have for you when you need to replace a string is:
1. If one breaks, it’s time to replace all 6 of them. One of your strings breaking is your guitar saying “time to replace my strings” and eventually, all of your strings will become rusty and not intonated until you put on fresh strings.
2. When putting on new strings, don’t do a knot or a loop or a bend or anything like that to the string, just put the string in the hole and wind it to pitch. The real PITA will be what to do with the extra string hanging out, there’s various ways to deal with this but I recommend finding your own way.
As for what’s been happening in my life, I’ve been thinking about this great mantra, pull out your white flag and surrender, it’s been really helping me out from acting in ways that I would later regret and it encourages peace and pacifism.

I am slowly coming to peace with not caring what the world thinks about what I do or don’t do. The hang-ups I have of my own I am trying to lose, I’m not taking any of the worlds.
I relate to that.

Still not feeling too well, but @The Hole Got Fixed’s post has made me decide to put on Abbey Road later today as I’m not going to school. I can’t just leave out The Beatles!

Debating whether to leave this forum. A certain annoying person who thinks Elvis is a pedophile and abortion is murder tends to ruin my experience here.
Also, I’m just sick of the fans who love criticizing John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I’m sure you are just as horrible as you think John or Yoko is.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Yoko’s pretty cool. Yes, I don’t really like her music and art stuff, but as a person who influenced some of John’s best songs, there’s definitely a reason for why he picked her.

You talked about this in the Yoko appreciation thread as well. People love to point fingers at John calling him an abuser, wife beater, and awful father. While the latter was true, most people base these beliefs on minimal research and a desire to stand above something or someone that is so revered so widely.
I do hope you stay on the forum Expert Textpert.

Oh mods @Ahhh Girl???
I hope you don’t leave us @Expert Textpert, but if you need to take a break or something we understand.
And @Martha, DO is right — when your strings break, they’re overdue for a change. It’s recommended you change them monthly if you’re playing daily. The plus side is that you’ll get so good at it you won’t have problems like this…
…maybe…
… don’t count on it.
Wiping them off (tops and bottoms) after playing to keep that nasty finger gunk from building up also helps. But do learn how to efficiently change your strings, this is something every guitarist needs to know.
Feel better @SgtPeppersBulldog!
