I’ve just had my first gig with my guitar in a band! It was so unbelievable!!!
I mean, it wasn’t a big gig or anything, just a small festival with lots if students bands and I was probably the worst guitarist of the evening (but also the one who plays shortest, so that’s okay). Still, the whole festival was such a profound, electric, energetic rock experience, I was reminded once again why rock is the greatest passion of my life and how music can bring all sorts of people together, be they shy or outgoing or funny or serious or whatever.
Oh yeah, and when at one point my excitement grew too big, I went outside for a short while and looked at Beatles photos on my phone, after that the nervousness was replaced by energy! Just thought I’d share the tip with fellow Beatlemaniacs.

I’m glad you had a lot of fun, it certainly sounds like a great experience.
And I’m sure you weren’t the worst guitarist there, not by a long shot

Aww, thanks but trust me, I was. One boy, played Little Wing from Jimi Hendrix perfectly!
Unfortunately, no group did any Beatles cover but I’ve already suggested doing a Beatles song for next year’s festival to the one who does the organisation and rehearsed with us. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

YAAYYYYYYYYY @Martha! No, I’m not envious or anything
I had a gig once, under somewhat different circumstances. I didn’t have time to be nervous before the show as I was dreadfully late and only just made it in time for the first song.

I’ve played All Along the Watchtower with one guitarist in a band, and Little Wing with another in a different band. Needless to say I’ve never been the best guitar player in my band. These guys were ridiculous. Fortunately I my keyboard playing has value of its own.
I’m really happy for you @Martha! Always be on the lookout for opportunities to play. It is rare for them to just be given out.

Thanks to over a months worth of rain in Melbourne this weekend, cricket was cancelled (we were probably going to win) and had to spend most of the weekend inside being lazy. On the upside only 2 more sleeps ’til I get to see Paul!

Oh… my… goodness…
My cricket game was cancelled as well due to the weather, and we were definitely going to win too.
Are you sure we’re not the same person?

I hope we’re not. Maybe we have split personality?

^ I agree. Maybe you’ve played in the same team all the time without knowing it…

That would be amazing. I’ve had scenarios like that, where I’d spend loads of time with a certain person through an activity and then discover I had another connection with them.

Was talking to someone on Friday night and, as she was asking me questions about buying stuff, I explained my outlook on life. She took offence at how I see life and it totally killed the conversation.
This used to depress me, now I just see the stupidity and hilarity in it.

I just went at the facial hair with the clippers. First time since May. I, Me, Mine don’t mind a beard, but with it now mainly white, I’m not spending a month being called fecking Father Christmas. Again.

I don’t know if this is the right place to say this but I think I totalled my relationship with Ron Nasty. I feel horrible inside because of this and feel like I’m to blame if this is the case (it’s hard to tell for sure because the email was very vague but it seems to be so). I hope this isn’t the case and if it is I hope I can make it up to him somehow.

It’s vague in that I can’t tell whether you are trying to say “agree to disagree, that sounds fair to me” or “this relationship is over”. Hopefully it isn’t the latter because that would really suck to lose a really good friend over something as minor as a disagreement.
